I picked up one of the new smooth sleeved 27mm hoses to use with my CT26. I’m sensitive to dust, so the more I can contain at the source the happier I am. It is indeed more flexible, which is welcome. The ribbed structure is still there but reduced (peak to valley) something like 50% and the outer mesh sleeve is tightly wrapped around the hose so it’s much less likely to catch on things.
Now for some fun. Anyone want to guess how much (in %) the air velocity at the tool end of the hose increased? The closest without going over wins! (The admiration of your fellow festoolians)
32-27mm smooth hose
Vs.
27mm hose with right angle connector (the hose from my mini)
I connected a 4” square dust port to bring the velocity in range of the anemometer (made for measuring lower velocity HVAC ducts).
