Dean,my boss called Kraftmaid and they also said to turn them off and to do what you describe. But after turning them off(all 3 of them on a door)it still had the soft close action.Deansocial said:mastercabman said:I tried last night to post the video, but no luck.Maybe someone can help with this.waynelang2001 said:mastercabman said:I just finished a kitchen with those new soft close and unlike Tim,I don't think they work very well.
First, the soft action start when the door is about at 45* THEN the "closing" is very slow!
I even turn them to OFF and still had a soft closing.
I video a door to show my boss.I am going to try to post it here to show what i mean.
If you turn them off then close them the soft close will still work because they need to be closed in order to compress the soft close mechanisim. I use these all the time and once the soft close is turned off there is no way for the door to still close softly.
I would like to see the video you took to see what you dislike about the hinges.
Yes i know about closing the door after i switch off and then open and it should be off at that point.Today, went to another job with the same hinges and tried it.Did the same thing.Even turning them off it still has a soft action.
the blum soft close i use you turn both hinges off then close the door and after that they dont soft close anymore
I am going to try to post the video on youtube and see if it works.
