I can't believe I'm doing this....

So am I to assume it comes with the trim stop but not the cross stop?

And is it only with the 5mm cutter?

What about the systainer?

Like Dan said, and yourself, can't believe you're doing this.  Is it a second one for you or something?  Meaning you've got the old pin style and just don't care for the newer style or somethin'?

You are correct. It only comes with the Trim stop, an extra 5mm cutter, a batch of dominos and of course the systainer. Everything is in great shape as I take good care of my tools.
I'm selling because I'm not able to use as much as I was hoping for and can't see myself needing it in the near future.
I hope to get the tool home tomorrow and take some pics and maybe even a video of it.

Cheers,
Andreas

Andreas, I'm really sorry to see you selling your Domino
but it might help if you posted the price you'd take in US dollars too.

Good luck!

Hi Michael,

Selling and shipping to the US is a major pain in the butt and also very expensive.... Therefore I will only be able to ship within Canada.

Most members are from the US you just cut off a huge amount of potential buyers.

I ship to Canada all the time, it may be  a pain(not for me UPS picks it up from my home and its on it way), but getting 820.00 seems worth the hassle so maybe you should consider opening it up to people in the US.

Then again with this economy and being such a specialized tool it may not be so simple to sell it right now anywhere.

Used, from a Festool retailer, I would expect 15% off, and free shipping.  Yours, doesn't have the $75 cross stop either, nor the $28 base support.  So here's my math....New $1043, less $103 (Missing Cross Stop and Base Support), less 15% = $800, and there would be no tax if buying from a no tax province.

You're offering $750 + shipping costs, which Purolator ground, you're probably around $30 to $50 (let's call it $40 for argument's sake), and you are not a retailer, that I could return to within 30 days if your definition of "well kept" is nowhere near that of the buyer's definition.  Hmmmm.....I'd be hard pressed to cough up more than $600, and that would only be after moving me up from $500 and you telling me how your family needs to desperately to be fed with the proceeds from the sale due to hardship that was an act of god.  Sorry, but that's how I worked it out.

When it comes to private sales, garage sales, ebay/kijiji/cl, myself, I'm NOT dealing with a retailer, and I need a significant discount.  If it wasn't a Festool or another highly regarded brand, I would be looking for an even more significant discount than what I've mentioned.  I think this is a reasonable analysis, and I'm not posting this to get your back up, but more to let you know how I, an interested buyer for a Domino, would work this out, and maybe you'd get more bites at a different price point.

BTW, I just received a new Domino yesterday, so I'm now officially off the market and will hopefully have some time to go "play" later on in the shop....yipee!  [smile]

Sincerely, good luck with your sale!

Kevin,

I got your point. I'm not taking it personal. But it would have been nice to send me this post as a PM....  with your post it will make it impossible to get my asking price.

BTW, there is no way I would let it go for your suggested $600.

800 canadian = just over 500 gbp so with the few bits and bobs  its not too far off, got to be worth more than the 600 cd
good luck

Sorry Eco, but I figured this has been up for sale for some time now, and had waited to toss this out there earlier for exactly the reason you mentioned, that you should have the opportunity to get your initial asking price.  At this point, I would think you're either not thinking from a buyer's perspective, and it is maybe a way to help you move it, although I know for myself, if I can't get what I want, I'll usually keep it.

EDIT:  If you prefer that my post be removed, I have no objection.

That ls not right if you agree with his post and want to hide it so you get your price something is not right. If you do not agree than no big deal.

If his rational is wrong his post will have nothing to do with getting your asking price.

I have pointed out many times when I think someones asking price is to high. If something is on sale for a long time and does not sell the only conclusion is that at that specific time the asking price is to high.

I am not sure if it is or not becasue I never buy used Festools any more, they are just to dam expensive. I just go new for pennies more. I never did understand the resale on the Festool stuff it makes no sense to me at all.

I did make an error earlier.  There is no 30 day money back guarantee when buying a recon tool from a dealer, but you do get a one year warranty though, which is something I failed to mention when buying a recon from a dealer.

I bet you part of the issue here is that whereas for new tools, Canadian and US Festool dealers are restricted to sales in their own countries, but for privately-owned used tools, buyers and sellers are free to trade wherever they please. Thus someone in the market for a used Festool will naturally prefer to buy in the US due to the large pricing difference but Andreas is naturally calculating his selling price off a new Canadian domino.

Richard.

I thought Festool retailers were forbidden from selling used products.
Personally I would be reluctant to buy a power tool I hadn't seen run.
(though I sold a vacuum here; I hope he's happy with it!)
