New Sys3 ORG M boxes

Picked up two of these from Systainer Store. They are pretty sweet.

To my surprise they actually hold quite a lot!

I don't love how the front handle sticks out when stacked to a T-Loc, but with no top handle it does make them easy to carry.

Other thing I noticed is the blue latch seems to be a slightly different shade as my existing T-Locs.

Today I enabled more stock of the M Organizer size for a shipment I have arriving next week, but it sold out already.  It will be August before I get any more of that item in stock.  I have the L Organizer in stock though. 

So far I'm loving this organizer too.  I learned the bins have a label slot on them.  And eventually there will be some sort of lid that can attach to each individual bin as well.  I'm really glad for this extension to the Systainer System.

Very slick.  I’m waiting for the 10 packs of bott boxes to be available before I switch over. I mostly use 2” and longer screws.  My old school systainers have as many as the yellow boxes as they can fit.  I suspect that you’re going to find the “m” versions to be more popular than the “L” versions for a while since the midi systainers don’t play nice with the sys-roll.

Thanks for sharing the pics!  I ordered one of these yesterday (before they sold out) to try out.  I’m glad to hear they have a slot for labels in the bins- the one downfall I see is that the bins are not compatible with the Sortainer Sys 4 (which I have a few) but not a huge deal to me.  Plan is to use on a tray with full extension slides as you did.

I took a Festool SYS³ ORG M (204853) with 22 boxes and threw in a handful of #4 lock washers in one of the boxes. I then closed the Systainer and shook it 15-20 times in both the right side up and upside down positions. I used the #4 internal tooth lock washer as it was the worst case because it is only .020" thick, while the #4 external tooth washer is almost .040" thick. 

When I opened up the Systainer I was fully expecting to see that some lock washers had made their way to some of the other boxes...surprise...not even one.  [big grin]  In the second photo you can see them resting on the internal ledge of the small box.

If you mean the boxes that go into the SYS 4 TL-SORT/3 and the SYS Combi drawers, then:
NO.

Different form factor all around, unfortunately.

This is really something I would love to hear about the reason behind it, ever since this information got out/spread.

I probably know the answer, Bott. But why, oh why. ...

I mean people using the old colored inset boxes sure felt the punch when the grey ones (right side) came out. And now, yet another totally different format.

I'm set on the old grey ones. I might get another one of the organizers, but they will forever stay separate from/ behind on my system.

Especially since the old grey ones fit some of the drawers in my Snap-On toolbox, perfectly.

When I opened up the Systainer I was fully expecting to see that some lock washers had made their way to some of the other boxes...surprise...not even one.  [big grin]  In the second photo you can see them resting on the internal ledge of the small box.

Have you taken the small box out to check that they didn't fall through the holes in the box (especially the one to the right on the image)?

It sure looks like these washer would be able to drop down the small cut on the right side of that internal ledge.

The bins are only supported on the surface they stand on by a cross on the bottom of the boxes? So that means the line of support is much closer to the middle. Combined with the wider width up top makes it easy to tip over I guess. Also so much wasted space. If there are supposed to be individual lids... why are they still not available? Or are they?

They are not supposed to have individual lids. The grid-work in the top prevents anything from coming out. If they had individual lids I don’t think the Systainer would close.

They are not supposed to have individual lids. The grid-work in the top prevents anything from coming out. If they had individual lids I don’t think the Systainer would close.

It will close if the individual lid is lower in the bin.

Don't know about the holes but the slots are for identification labels, 204949, that are sold separately.

Thanks, didn't think of labels. Maybe the two holes in the corners are for a flip-up style lid.

That’s neat!

I would guess the holes in the corners would allow you to „mount“ the containers to a wall by using two small nails/screws.
Maybe even hang them somewhere onto the SYS3?! [emoji848]

Agreed that the other holes has an arrangement that would fit a slim recessed lid
But I would only have had a few of the (possible) lids handy in the systainer for use when bringing the insert alone.
