New systainer T-loc mini & midi

This was posted a couple of weeks back.  So who wants to try to guess what is coming to be coming out in the new big Systainer??  If I had to guess I'd say a cordless tool set, drill, impact and jigsaw.  What do you guys think?

Festool might decide not to utilize the midi systainer at all.  They don't pack any tools into the maxi.

But, if they do come out with anything in the midi, I think that your guess for they first offering, Brice, is the right one.

Actually I think that the Planex comes in a Maxi.

Yes, and the I believe the harness for it does too.  Also, in Europe I think there might have been a Shinex with polishing set in the Maxi.

My second guess is probably more wishful thinking, but I'd love to see a reciprocating saw in the Midi Sys.

They do. Planex, BS75, BS105, Shinex, RAS180 and Rustofix come in Maxi systainers.

Even if Festool doesn't jump on the Midi systainer right away, I'm sure they'll find some tools that best fit in it eventually.

........Or Protool

That cordless set idea would be cool, might have to assemble it oneself but still. Add the Syslite in too.

It's possible that protool was the one asking for a bigger sys, they have many larger corded tools that don't fit in regular systainers, and who come either in a box or in a maxi systainer. In that case a MIDI would make more sense because the MAXI is just too big for an angle grinder or hammer drill!

edit, does anyone know if the mini T lock is available yet in Festool colors? i know there was a weird fake T loc mini going around that was smaller and couldn't lock to each other. I suppose this new ones is different and does lock?

Whoa, sweet!

Let me get this straight, The mini is the really tiny one, the midi is the "normal" size one where 99% of festools are sold in and then the maxi which is what the planex is sold in. So the new MIDI allows for connection of the MINI?

What is being called the midi is new and is bigger than the "normal" sys1, sys2, sys3, sys4, and sys5 systainers.  So far, it is only available through Tanos, not through Festool.

See the material at the link provided in the first post in this thread.

There is the "Micro" - business card size.  Then the "Mini" - which can fit into the normal Systainers in multiples.  Then the Systainer in the 5 heights.  Then there is the "Maxi" - two normal systainers fit on top - turned sidewise.  Then there will be the new "Midi" which will be in between the normal (Systainer) and the Maxi.

Ahh! i see, so Tanos is discontinuing the "normal" size and making it slightly bigger, or they are making a total of 4 mini, normal, midi, maxi? Im spending a fortune in systainers as im moving my entire van/business over to systainers. Kind of sucks if they are moving (and eventually festool) over to these new sizes. Although i assume the new systainers & sizes will be compatible with the current T-Loc. The link doesnt provide much information on compatibility unless im blind?  [embarassed]

They are definately continuing the normal sizes.

Unlike you, I think that the material at the link and its associted PDF shows the conectivity among the mini, normal, and midi T-locs quite well.

SWEET! didnt click on the PDF, thats pretty cool. I could use the larger size for a few tools that i just cant fit in systainers like my SDS/Recipricating saw, i dont like how larger the "maxi" is either. Ill have to go measure but i think the recipricating saw/sds would fit in the new size!

I can't wait to get my hands on a few of the Midi size.  I was actually contemplating buying a Maxi or two, but it's less than ideal for my desired uses.  The midi would be perfect.

Also, I'm excited about the new mini's with the T-loc.  Although I have a huge herd of Classic Systainers, and I'm fine with the latches on those (honestly, I prefer the latches), the small latches on the mini's are persnickety to get closed.

Hope these hit North America in 2013!

Brice, don't be silly. NO ONE in the WORLD would want a reciprocating saw with dust collection. That's just absurd! But since we are being absurd, let's put LED headlights on it too, because no one wants to see what they are doing either!
