Some searching shows the Midi-Systainer T-Loc III priced at 59.99 Euros  (German site).

Not outrageous nor out of line with regular systainer pricing.  Hurry up and become AINA!
 
I measured, and if I converted correctly (im not a math wiz) my Bosch SDS will fit perfect and my Milwaukee Hole Hawg will squeeze ever so slightly in. Really excited about this!  [big grin]
 
this is great.
we will see a lot more sysports being built  after these are released.

iv finally got some shop time. and working my way along the list of things i want doing. i have 1-2 out of hundreds done.
sysports are on my list.
im not sure what way to do them now,
im thinking some normal width ones and 1 wider one
 
The interesting thing is a MFT/3 topped sysport would take two midi's wide perfectly with no voids.
 
I have noticed the MIDI is not compatible with sortainers. Hopefully, this means the new generation sortainer is finally on it's way. But how come is it not compatible with the new SYS-Roll? Where is The System?

It is compatible but you have to place a "classic" systainer first...

i think you mean a T-loc? The midi has no latches for the classic systainer to attach to, you would first need to put a normal T-loc in between.
But then this big midi would be sticking in the middle or top of the stack, as 3 filled systainers is heavy enough. Looking quite silly and out of balance.

Personally i would avoid the midi if possible, the only compatibility i see is the locking, and with T-locs exclusively. In all other ways it would bring more problems than it would solve, won't fit in any sysports, stacking it with normal ones in the workshop or van will leave gaps of lost space.

There is currently no need for it in the Festool offering, and introducing it would not be very system like as it is incompatible with most of the system (sysports, shop vacs, sortainers, classic systainers all the inlays and systainers accesories etc...)

It's more like Tanos or Protool need this to extend their range or fit in something they couldn't before.

I'm in the midst of converting my enclosed trailer into mostly systainer stored tools amd supplies. At first read I was excited about the intro of the Midi Systainers, but I agree they that work with the system, but only to a point.

I have found that the tools that I considered putting into the new midi's fit into a standard T-Loc Sys5, just stand them upright. I have both of my rotary hammers and all the bits in one. I have a corded and cordless reciprocating saw in another, worm drive skilsaws also fits in a Sys5. These would be the largest "portable" power tools in my arsenal.

For storage I am building a "Sysport/Sysroll" hybrid. It really is just a shop made Sysport with the same wheel setup as a Sysroll. This opens up the option to pull out the required Systainers, lock together and carry to site; or wheel the whole stack down in one trip. My work varies greatly so this system was the only thing I could think of that had no weaknesses regardless of the particular project at hand. Other than the cost of all the Systainers...

I'm looking forward to seeing how this new arrangement works out in real life. I'll post some pics when complete.

Yes, that's right, a T-loc 1-5 first

Festool can also easily make a cheap base adapter for the sys-roll or vacuum top...

New festool  tool usually come at the beginning of the year, new systainer too... so we will know soon  [smile]
 
So now that Japan Woodworker, mysystainer, and systainerworld are gone (and two of those at least were really the same, right?). Where can you buy the full line of tanos systainers here in the US?

The Tanos midi (size 3) is already here.  I bought one from Lee Valley last month.  I'll start a new thread with a few pictures and some of my thoughts.
