Hi all,

Just found this on youtube and thought I'd share. At the 25 sec point there is a shot of a voucher to buy one for 20 Euro, 20 GBP or 190 ZAR. anyone across the pond seen one yet?

Rumors on this are floating around since June.

Great moment for their release. Got a festool demo coming up in November at my local dealer.

Before anyone asks, they are not available in FOGtainer blue.

Looks likes the timing for the FOGtainers was just perfect then. They could be the last redesign of the current festool systainer range, How cool is that.

I must say the latches I have always hated and even now I still use a screw driver or something to open my systainers so I do not hurt my fingers. After close to 3 years I thought they would loosen up and be simpler to open, they are not.

This is the best upgrade they could have made to the systainers, IMHO.

I found one of these to go along with the manual and 1+2 subscription when I opened my last purchase, a Domino, and was happily surprised. I had to fill in and mail a form to pre-order one of these. I can't remember if they even stated the size... I wonder what will happen if you put the new T-loc systainer underneath any of the already excisting systainers, it looks like you can't connect the top of the new ones to the bottom of the old.

after breaking my nails the second time  [doh] i used some grease on the inside of the case.. there are small noses, which i used to apply a gentle amount of silicon grease.. what can i say.. it works - no more brooken nails - no hassle anymore .. you might wanna try it..

kind regards, Mike

The Festool trainers here use Armor-All - the car care product.  Also silicone based.

Am I to assume the liquid armour all?  I don't want to spray any silicone stuff in the shop or have it come into contact with any of my wood.

Do you put it on the removeable flaps AND the protruding prongs built on the systainer, or just one?

Can't say I get frustrated/struggle with the latches, but if it makes them operate a little easier, and it doesn't negatively impact anything else, I may do this myself.

EDIT:  This part may seem silly to some, but will the silicone applied area have a dirty/blemished appearance over time as a result?

I saw them 2 weeks ago at a Medical trade show in Miami aimed at the Carribean/Latin American market when I visited the Tanos booth set up for Medical Supply .  Very nice.  Very smooth.  No manicure issues. No definite detail on availibility.  I particularly liked the "Briefcase" handle option which allows the Sys 1 to be carried like a briefcase.  I imagine an announcement at the IWS Atlanta would be strategic but have been disappointed before.

The voucher states that they will be available after November 1st, 2010.

Richard.

R190? [scared] Wow that is CHEAP!

Anyone know if these are going to replace or be a side by side offering with the current systainers?

Ha, that's what happens when you post before reading thru the entire thread.

Some exciting information now up on www.systainerworld.com homepage.  These should be shipping out to you guys around October 1.  They are hitting the cargo ship and on their way to me by sometime tomorrow.  Anthracite and the classic Light Grey with Blue latches in sizes systainer I, II and III.

I'll make a formal announcement via email and a post in the dealer area by the weekend most likely.  Now to get all the items up there!

Chris, it'll be side by side to start.  Not sure about 100% replacement.
