I am thinking of getting a small table saw with a sliding carriage. I am looking at something like the Jet JTS-600 or Record TS250RS, they both look like they are made in the same factory? Does anybody have any experience of these saws or can they suggest anything similar?

Thanks in advance, Doug

Could save yourself a few bob and go second hand there Doug. I reckon units like that will run and run? Speaking as someone with a 30 year old Startrite I picked up for £200 last year.

I have got plenty of space and 3 phase electric so do keep looking for a nice old cast iron one but nothing seems to come up. Also a bit put off by a couple of past experiences of trying to get parts for now obsolete machines and a dodgey spindle moulder I bought.

+1 for old cast iron. Love my Startrite TA275 A paid a lot more than Wuffles, however it was fully refurbished with a brand new 240v motor.  Only had it six months but use it a lot than I thought I would. Good luck. I bought through an eBay company

Any one got one of the xcalibur cabinet saws? I've just been looking at them online and seeing if I can squeeze one in my 1 car garage workshop. They look real solid units, I think they are the same as the grizzly saws from the US but are made in the Far East I think the uk stockest is Woodfordtooling based in Stockport.
