New Tariffs 10-18-19, Price Increase?

I haven't heard a word about price increases.  But whereas that would fall under marketing it would not be unusual to not hear.  In other words, your guess would be a good as mine.

I'm "guessing" there is going to be a HUGE bump in Festool USA sales this Xmas.

Guessing they aren't going to absorb the tariff and ride it out either.

Good news (for me at least) is my collection just got more valuable.

Looks like they're really targeting Germany on this.  Additional 25% (on top of the 6-9%) on German made hand tools (screwdrivers, pliers, knives & cutting tools, etc).  Most Festool items are HTS code 8467 and subject to the additional tariff if they were made in Germany.  I've been out of touch lately and don't know if Festool is making any products here in the US or Taiwan which would be exempt from this surcharge.  Wait until they go after German made cars.....that's likely to get a lot more attention.

I tried looking this up on the internet a few weeks ago, but the info I found was pretty vague with what might be affected and I was somewhat curious if it affected Festool.  One place though termed the price increase as Industrial Tools and Machinery.  I kinda think that would exclude the types of offerings that are Festool.  I could be wrong though.

Perhaps Peter or Seth can nudge Festool into an official clarification ?

Surely they're aware of something as potentially big as this.

Festool USA is aware of this topic.  That's all for now.
