New to forum and Festool

Just signed up.  Been collecting tools and doing all sorts of projects my entire life.  Past three years taking change in direction after spending about 25 years in Finance and Insurance and have been doing carpentry/home improvements.  Currently working on a entire house renovation/remodel mostly involving complete kitchen and bath, doors/windows, painting and refinishing hardwood floors throughout.  House is older early/mid 20th century with plaster walls, hardwood moldings and many layers of old paint.  Have known about Festool for many years but never actually used any.  I just purchased a CT36 E HEPA extractor, a Rotex RO150 FEQ-Plus, RTS 400 REQ-Plus, DTS 400 REQ-Plus and a DUPLEX LS 130 EQ-Plus sanders along with some abrasives and other accessories.  Looking forward to seeing how they work!

Already looking to add a track saw, miter saw and multi function table to the mix now that I have the extractor, lol.  I guess that's how these things go...

I have all those sanders myself, each one excels at the jobs they were designed around.  I've used my sanders on wood, plastics and metal at one time or another.

Though I would return the Duplex LS130 immediately and get an ETS 125 instead. The LS130 is the most useless Festool sander I can imagine and only useful if you have to do the same profiles over and over again and you've made a matching sanding block for it.

The other sanders are great and will make quick work of your house renovation.

Thanks.  I bought the LS130 specifically for some moldings and spindles that I will be working on with current project.  Planning on picking up a few of the RO sanders when funds allow.  I have other 5 and 6 RO sanders with plenty of sandpaper in the meantime.  Also want to get the rotary sander (RAS115 I think?) for coping crown molding.  Track saw is also on short list...

Yes, you want to get that RAS 115 sander, it's a great tool. Festool was so dumb to discontinue this gem, so you'll have to look for used or do some treasure hunting for old dealer stock.

The LS130 is also painfully slow. I've had almost all Festool sanders by now but a few, and I've never been really happy to get rid of one, except for the LS130. I would have given it away, though I was happy someone gave me big bucks for it.

Thanks guys.  Used vac and Rotex today generally happy still need to get settings dialed in.  Thanks for heads up on RAS have to see if my dealer still has them.  Must have old catalog.

Not necessarily, I believe [member=57769]TylerC[/member] stated about 6-9 months ago that the RAS was not being dropped in the US market.

For the near-term at least, the RAS will continue to be available in North America.

Festool have a separate line of minature equipment for repairing and restoring classic bottles.

Congrats and welcome to the forum!  Good news is you got hooked on great tools. Bad news is all those abrasives fit in systainers with inserts for each type of sander. Then you can add them to the stack too. Systainers multiply  like rabbits!

Thanks. Yeah I'm definitely planning to get at least one systainer for the abrasives.  Probably not going to use the inserts though.  I think I will just carry a sample of each as I travel to job sites not really practical carrying full inventory lol.  I already have plans for some other tools that will require more systainers though...

Yeah, I saw you already planned on a tracksaw too. Once you have one you will find a whole bunch of uses for it. And then again, more systainers.
When my wife and I were dating I had 2 systainers. Now 7 years later there's about 50 of them!
