These are launching October 1. I'll follow up with more detail...

Tom,

It seems like all D150 sanding pads are carryover from ETS, at least they share the same part number. Are they interchangeable?

Thanks,

Hi
ERROR - The smooth hose will not fit the right angle adaptor. Apology for the wrong information  [doh]
The smooth hose will fit into the top of the MINI/MIDI but the right angle adaptor will not fit on the smooth hose.

I just loaded the new products on my website in the Coming Soon section.

If you'd like to pre-order for shipping or pick up on Thursday, October 1, please either place and order on the website, call/email me, or come by.

'Sorry for the delay in loading these. Things kept getting in the way...

New sanders look really good. I have 4 already so I'm not really in the market but I'm looking forward to trying one out. Price seems a little hefty as usual.

Is the Whole US market for Festool, one giant loss lead.
The reason I ask is those US price for their new products are on par with Ryobi prices down here. I think someone's taking the P out of us.
The ETS150 currently costs $591 in Australia.  The new ETS EC 150 is $869.
DB10 - you may be right!
I've tested the ETS EC 150 - it's good but it doesn't seem that special.  A head to head test review on both models would be interesting.  Otherwise I can't see many objective users paying nearly $300 more for the newer offering.

Tom,
I know, I know.  At the JLC broadcast this year, Brian stated in his Conturo demo this would be available from what I recall; "....soon, real soon."

Rant on;
It has now been over 6 months since the Conturo was available in NA and 8 months since the JLC event.  Yet we wait, and we wait, and we wait!  It is difficult to buy into the argument of the Festool integrated 'system' when they fail to deliver what is clearly a necessity for the Conturo and the lack of the Vac Sys handicaps the entire system.  I don't want to hear empty promises from Festool and just want them to deliver what they said they would deliver and when they said they would deliver it.  If Festool wishes me to believe that the term "soon" means something longer than 6 months, I will call it what it is in a polite term - hogwash.
Rant off, blood pressure returning to normal.

I have been told the VAC SYS will be a Spring 2016 release. The vac part will not be inside the Systainer as it is in Europe, but a separate stand alone part. I too have seen a demo of the VAC SYS and was quite impressed.

My info on the release is more or less hear-say, so take it for what it's worth...

It is my understanding the vac-sys was definitely invited, but it did not RSVP in a timely manner. [poke]

I just recently bought two of these http://virutex.com/vacuumclamp-modelsvn-470.aspx and they work fantastic.  I did not buy the venturi main unit as I have been making vacumm pattern jigs for years and use a surplus refrigeratin vac pump I bought for $15.  I did not buy the rotating version of the clamp, instead I bought two bar stool swivels, made two bases from 3/8" aluminum - 8020 on Ebay, and made attaching holes to line up with my MFT.  I now have two rotating vac bases for less than $550.  If you are decent at making your own jigs this is definetely the economical way to go.

Ive noted that once again the Syslite2 didn't make it to the party.......

But it will soon, possibly in October still. I had a Festool rep come out to my house to demo some of the new 18v tools this Wednesday. Asked plenty of questions regarding new releases. I'm particularly excited about the beginning of 2016. So long as his info was correct  [big grin]

When the Vac-Sys comes ( I hope and believe it will ultimately) if it is indeed a separate unit, I hope that Festool has made the design so that it can be transported in a systainer.

That seems like it would be fairly easy to do, or add the T-Loc feet and latch to the compressor unit without enclosing it.
