I recently purchased a new MFK700 Router and have found it to be a great addition to my continuing growing Festool products in my shop. I have been doing quite a bit of research on the FOG website and other websites, particularly on the use of the MFK700 router for general routing beyond just trim routing. I have found numerous pieces of information and I was hoping that there could be a series of posts of how to use the router beyond just trim. I have taken the Festool class in Lebanon with Brian S. and he opened my eyes to the capability of the router and the importance it has in the router family along the OF1400 and OF 2200.
Just today, I used the MFK700 to make a profile in a piano bench top in red oak I making to repair the bench that was water damaged 40 years ago. The router performed quite well and I was pleased with the results. But there are more uses that a potential MFK700 owner would like to know about. If anyone would like to contribute to what can be accomplished with MFK700, I would greatly appreciate hearing about it and so would many other owners or potential owners that might want to ask the same questions.
