With all the Kapex bashing and the talk of bailing from the brand,l thought I would post a happy report.

I got to use my Pro5 on some oak today and really like the sander. I think it will go well will my RO125.

While I’m at it,I got to use my new 23ga gun also, never paid much attention to one ,but glad I picked it up.
It will be a nice addition to the 18ga, 15ga,and a narrow crown stapler that I already have.

By no means am I trivializing the plight of the Kapex owners, but just thought a positive report was due also.

Thanks for the nice tools and a place like FOG to learn from,
Charlie

Good news is always welcome.  I’ve been using my Kapex to lay 1800 sq. ft. Of bamboo flooring and I’m very happy to have such a nice Saw.

Very cool. Would love to see pics when you get a chance. I am thinking about installing Bamboo too!

Just curious the thickness of the bamboo flooring and what saw blade you’re using?

I’ve never done anything with bamboo but I’ve heard that it is quite tough on saw blades.

Here is the first room and our master closet. I will try to get better pics tomorrow of completed areas.

It is 9/16” thick. I’m using the blade that comes with the saw.

I, too, have been happy with my Kapex since day 1 of ownership (I did finetune its square cuts and laser a bit out of the box).

No other smcs I have used were anywhere close to its precision and dust collection. Everything is dead on. I was making mostly angle cuts at 7 degrees for over an hour today and the cuts were super.

Needless to say, the saw and vac were powered by two separate 15a circuits...if that mattered.

I’m not in a “plight”. I totally enjoy my Festool products, including a well used Kapex, and I appreciate the years of great service I’ve received from them.

I’m at a stage in life where I can afford to buy great tools and I have the time to use them. Festool plays a big part in this.

I have really enjoyed the lasers when cutting the base molding. Dead on accurate. It is also nice that I can cut the base flat or standing up.
I did spend about an hour aligning the right laser better, I had messed with it not to long after I got the saw and never got it adjusted perfect. They are a pain to adjust. I usually make it way worse before I get them right. Now they are both spot on.
