I recently bought a domino joiner, then realized that I should get the dust extractor before I even plugged the joiner in, then ordered the dust extractor. I know, I could have saved a bit of money ordering the 2 together, but some of us are a bit slow sometimes.
All I can say is WOW!! The joiner ROCKS! Along with the dust extractor and the ability to basically plug and play when connecting the tools together.
I started with a workbench for reloading. I used 2 pieces of 3/4 plywood trimmed with 1x2 oak installed with the joinier and I was crazy happy that I spent that much money for a cool tool. The wife won't be when the CC statement comes in, but, oh well.
I ended up using polyurethane on the top and messed up coat 3, so this mistake force me to buy my 3rd Festool product within a week! I needed a good sander, so now I am a proud owner of a ETS150/3 sander. I can't say enough good about the new tools and the easy of use.
I am now on project number 2 with the joiner and it is just amazing how the brain is thinking of the next and the next.
Now the question is what's next on the list of Festool products  [big grin]

Just get a catalog and start circling your wish list!  :o

I started with one sander and the Midi vac just to see what the brand was all about..... then this happened! (See picture)

Welcome to the green slippery slope and have fun with these great tools.

Also, Festool is running a reconditioned tool sale through the end of the month, might be a way to get some more green without totally frying your credit card.

Hi Marcus,

Welcome to the FOG!  [smile]

Might I suggest a plunge saw and guide rails?

Seth

I know why they call this the FOG  [big grin] cause I have been one....a green one!!

Seeing those stacks of boxes makes me feel 2 ways, inadequate and motivated!!!
Thank goodness I am working overtime right now!
Trust me, I am already trying to figure out which box I want next!
The track saw would be great, but not sure how much I would use it right now, but what's that got to do with the how good it would look in my garage [big grin]
I am sure that I would find plenty to do with it as the mind wonders to new projects.

Hey, Good thinking.. You bought the first aid kit just in case you get dizzy from looking at all those SysPorts filled with Systainers... [wink]

Take your time. Sometimes the projects just come to you without knowing how they would pop up.
You bought the dust Extractor, and that's the heart of the system, so it's just figuring out your needs from here on out.
It took me years to buy either a Router or Track saw after I bought my first CT and sander, but for many people, the Track Saw and guide rails are a common 'next' step, esp. if you're tight on workspace or tend to go mobile with your work.

Dang...I'm officially envious....!

I know the feeling. I bought my ts 75 and a ct 48 at the beginning of July. I now have the parallel guides, mft3 table, kapex, ro125, of 1400, the accessories for the router, and all the tracks up to the fs1900 with a set of connectors. I also have a carvex on order with Bob Marino. I guess you could say I got the green fever pretty bad. In my defense I didn't have tools other than a makita skilsaw and I got tired of borrowing or waiting on someone else to help me do my projects.
Have fun with the tool purchases and all the new projects.

[welcome]

So you're trying to get away with the old "in my defence" line eh? That'll never work round here [big grin]

Isn't this comical! Now that the green bug has bitten me, the Rockler here is doing a Festool demo day today to show me how I can spend more money!!
The domino joiner is the bomb!! I got to use it some more yesterday and just can't  brag about it enough at how easy it has made my latest project.
I am building a craft/play table for my kids that the wife found on line. She didn't want to spend the $200 for it, so I got to spend the money to buy the joiner and domino kit. That was really nice of my wife to want to save money [big grin] [big grin]

You just have to remember to keep those projects to make the wife happy [big grin] Mine is always saying that more seems go in the shop than comes out.

Good advice has already been given. Although I am pretty sure by the time you read this post you will have already bought some new Festool's. I imagine it's hard to go to a Festool demo and come home empty handed.  [big grin]

I actually made it through the demo and out the door without a new Festool in hand, but the list has grown! I just need to prioritize the manly desire of tools and the next project to build. I really think I need a new Carvex and RO90 sander and work table.

I have an idea!! we pick one person a month and we all send him $10 to buy a new tool. This would be a mire $120 bucks a year out of your pocket and only $10 a month and 12 people with a new tool.
And I will be the first person to try this out [big grin] [big grin] [big grin]

a pyramid scheme is exactly what we need around here.

Glad to see you enjoyed the demo day.  The fact that you escaped with the wallet intact is just temporary I assure you.  Regarding your suggestion- Good Luck.  [big grin]

Good job making it out of the demo without buying a tool, probably not easy to do. The Carvex does look pretty awesome! If you have not seen it yet you should check out Paul Marcel's video on the Carvex. It is a very good video! I have never owned a jigsaw before but the Carvex looks freaking cool!

Out of the three tools you mentioned the MFT will probably get the most use. I love mine and it never hurts to have extra horizontal surface to work on either.
