Nice! 29 minutes on hold to reach Festool service!

i feel that in the situations that excuse the delay that one of the phone tellers should be answering the phone and taking the details for one of the others to ring back if they are not free. waiting 30 minutes for an answer is a joke.

In case my post was overlooked. It was an issue with our phone system on Monday that caused this to happen. It was being worked on as soon as the problem was reported. Long waits are not the norm.

Everybody know Festool USA customer service is excellent, they sometimes have hiccups and problems, but 99.99% they are excellent.
I had sometimes email them, but no response, I just email back and got the answer.

I travel every week for a living, different cities and I have to call airline customer services all the time, that is bad service.  I have called rockler before about an item that I bought from them, that stated that It should work based in the instructions, I called customer service, explained 100 times the instructions didn't work, but they couldn't get it and told me the problem was mine.  That is bad customer service.

Shane, I think we are getting spoiled with excellent service that every time has to be perfect. Based in your posting, this is was a hiccup that has been corrected.

Just to clarify - the $40 shipping charge referenced was my own estimation of what it will cost me to send the vacuum cover pieces to Festool.

Oh yea - always love the folks that say "You knew the terms of the warranty before you bought - how could you possibly complain??"

Thanks but no thanks for your input - I'm sorry, but I'm a little po'd that my expensive vac is broken so early in it's lifespan and that for such a premium priced tool, I have to pay to ship it back to Festool as opposed to having local service centers that can handle it or be dropped off to.

So while you shine up your vacs and line up your fancy systainers, I've lost a day of work and am out some $40+ cash after buying the "Best Vac (oops, dust collector) ever made!"

With the $500 price comes the ability to be upset when it dies.  My Fein Turbo II was used hard for 10 plus years and never a hiccup.

Only saving grace is I happen to have another CT22, was actually listed for sale on CL - figured what do I need with two fancy vacs, I guess maybe I do.

Funny thing is, service guys at Festool kept telling me how my vac is under warranty, like I should be happy about that, and I was trying to get them to tell me exactly how much warranty I had left as now I'm worried about the overall longevity of the unit.

Clean and shiny as can be, always used with bags,  1 1/2-2 years old and DEAD.

Some here seem to be happy when their Festool tools dies just so they can experience the excellence that is Festool service - I'd rather not have anything to do with the service dept....
