No "K", O.K.?--How's the weather in your area?

Instead of allowing myself to comment in the "K" threads, I thought I would start a different conversation.  Please be aware that this is not a thread about the "K".  So, no "douchebaggery"--that's actually a word; learned it from comedian Bill Burr.  No "antics with semantics"--well, maybe the occasional puny pun or two.  So, take a breather from the keyboard, put the club down and take a gander outside in your area, breathe in deep the outside air and come back and report what the weather was like today in your neck of the woods.
Here in southern Wisconsin, it was high 50's F.  Rained all day.  Still, it did not stop me from driving for about an hour to take in the Milwaukee Woodworking Show.  Talked to some nice fellow woodworkers about everything except the "K".  Bought a few nice goodies I had not seen before:  among them I got a drill powered metal nibbler and a multi-material cutting disc for the grinder from Bad Dog Tools.  Anyone else heard of this outfit?

Sure, this thread may seem trite.  Perhaps even a blatantly obvious diversion tactic--which, by the way, works most of the time with my kids...  Let's see who's up for discussing the weather in their area on the FOG.  Bonus points if it was actually foggy...

It's mid morning here, having a Coffee break and trying to have some lighter moments on the FOG. Yes it has been intense lately, but longer term members know the FOG has its moments and soon returns to being a forum for sharing and helping.

Its Autumn here, not that you would know it, few of our trees are even thinking of losing their leaves, and of course most of the native Australian trees don't [well not totally; usually a percentage are lost in summer in strong winds]. We are in drought, (see dead ground cover) and Autumn has been record breaking for heat.

However as can be seen from the photo just taken, we have misty rain this morning, and a projected top temp of C21 (69F). Can I claim the mist as FOG?

Well here in Virginia spring seems to have come  2 to 3 weeks early.  Birds are singing and Golden Retrievers are making my life active whereas they smell spring.m But this is Virginia and just the other week we had temperatures in the 80's and then a snowstorm by the end of the week.

Trending towards a better time to take an MFT into the middle of the yard and making a video.

Thanks for the diversion!

Peter

It snowed a couple inches today. I hate this place.

This coming from a guy that grew up in the Seattle area, where it rains 366 days a year.

Beautiful day in Riverview, FL today.  Some wind, but necessary to get rid of the last oak leaves before the new ones set.  Drizzling right now, but no real rain.

Those are some strong roots.

Nice weather here in GTA (Toronto).  Not foggy but last week I was in Windsor and the fog on the Detroit river was beautiful - low and hugging to the water, made everything surreal without the pea soup drabness that it can bring.

Spring definitely comes early these years, in past you waited until our May 24 long weekend to plant to be sure there was no frost now I bet it's a month earlier that you're safe now.

Untidy - I know it's called the land Down Under but surely the trees still grow from the ground up!

Been in the 50's-70's here, blue sky and no wind. The latter is actually the most surprising, although it has been many degrees above normal nearly all winter.

Any day now the daffodils will poke their silly heads out for a peek and then Whammo! we get clobbered one last time. Happens every year.

Mmm  [eek] On my post the picture is the right way up down here both in reality and on my IPad. Maybe you guys are the ones wrong side up! Or does the Interweb do something at the Equater!? LOL.  [smile] [big grin]

It was actually quite foggy here today- visibility less than a quarter-mile this morning, but thankfully cleared this afternoon and was in the mid-60s.  Forecast is for morning fog tomorrow too.  I'd like to cash in on the bonus points!!  :)

I haven't been able to spend much time on the FOG in the last year- my wife and I have been building a new house and selling the old one.  I'm glad we picked a patient builder- since I was making all the trim and cabinets by myself (lovely bride helped me stain them) I really slowed down the process as my full-time job kept getting in the way.  We are now moved in- albeit still making all the closet shelving which has been made much easier thanks to the LR32! I will try to snap some pictures soon to share if you care to see them.  Glad the weather is warmer now so I can open up the garage doors and share the stain fumes with the neighbors.  I heard it is not going to last though- possible snow this weekend.

Regards,
Gerald D.

Guys you have to keep in mind he is in the Southern Hemisphere, so everything is fine, it just looks like the pic is upside down to us. [tongue] [big grin]

We actually have the system set to auto rotate any right side up pics to upside down for members posting from Australia. Of course which way is right side up and up side down will depend on your view point and location on the globe.  [wink]

We are currently working on modifying the software to also do left and right sideways orientation for posts originating from the equator regions.  [big grin]

And the weather today is dreary, windy, and rainy at about 40F. But in general has been great. We have had pretty much a no winter winter, and spring is early. Complete opposite of last year.

Seth

I have the Bad Dog nibbler. Used it when building my helicopter. Worked as well as when the huckster was demoing it.

Unfortunately, both pictures you posted are upside down...on both my MacBook Pro and iPhone.  [eek]

I've tagged [member=57769]TylerC[/member] on several occasions when the photos become goofy. Usually though, they only get rotated 90 degrees CW or CCW.

[size=13pt]Well that all sounds hit and miss as only one actually was
upside down, down here.  [eek] I will just continue to do what I do for now.  [smile]
