Over in the Contact Festool section, Eric started a post back in January about not having power at the outlet on his CT22 when the tool trigger was pulled.
Within the past couple of weeks I experienced the same issue on my CT22. Specific to it my TS55 and RAS would not power on but my Rotex operated just fine. ??? The fit of the prongs into the outlet seemed pretty sloppy so I slightly bent the prongs outward on the plugit cords but that didn't make a difference. I ended up fiddling with the cord until the tool would power on and then duct taped the cord to the side of the CT22 in the position that would keep me up and running.
Now the FWIW part of this. I got my MFK700 a little over a week ago and was pretty excited to do some routing but bummed that I would need the duct tape to make the system run. And I had not yet followed Timmy C's sage advise to contact Festool service about my problem so as far as I knew it was still a problem.
I plug the MFK in, hook it up to the dust eater hose and hit the power switch. Well, the MFK comes on, the CT22 kicks in and I have proven once again that all you need to do is just ignore the problem and it will go away. ;D
Of course the problem was still there so I started looking at the ends of my older Plug It cords comparing them to the brand new MFK cord. No difference other than my old cords were slightly toed out now as compared to new cord but the new cord looked to have a very slight toe in itself. Then I thought I would just toe in the older cords and see what happened.
Eureka ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D All my tools were back in synch with my CT22 and humming happily away.
I still may have one of those bum outlets and will still contact Festool but for the past week I've had no problems at all. Hopefully this might be at least a short term solution for others that have had or may this problem.
