novel concept

For $180 you can't go far wrong if you're a flooring guy and it does what the demo suggests. Skil is part of the Bosch group but positioned at the lower quality end.

Richard.

thats pretty slick. the flooring blokes and high rise finish carpenters would love that.

That's certainly a neat solution.

In the UK several manufacturers (eg Bosch, DeWalt, SIP etc) have a combined portable mitre and table saw, which is partly aimed at flooring contractors.

For example, this is the Bosch GTM12 Professional...

...and here is the DeWalt D27111, which is a slider:

I guess someone thinks we could hurt our selves with those miter/table saw hybrids.
I bet we never see those.

looks kinda cool i would never buy one though because i have a mitre saw and a table saw and a ts75 and a trion so i dont need it

Me too, it is nice to only bring one tool vs. 3 or 4.

id rather bring 3 really good tools vs one reasonable one. besides if you had a precisio saw it would do the job lovely

On my next trip to the uk I will stash one in my carry-on bag!! [big grin]

I said it was an interesting concept, one that some other tool manufacturer could really do something nice with.

I am going to argue that it would depend on the task.  whole house trim....you bet.

replacing some exterior window trim for 1 window......  Give me the one reasonable tool.

LAMINATE flooring  give me a  couple of the Cheap cordless ryobi saws.....the ones that came in a kit had a "plastic Shoe" and you could slode them on a finished floor without scratching...  Great production tool. [big grin] [big grin].

I am assuming that because of our shared use of Green that "HACK" tools and workmanship are not what we are discussing.
