Novice Live Edge Coffee Cabinet

Here’s a cabinet I made w leftover cherry and birch ply, shop made mahogany edge band, i epoxied the crotch and live edge maple top A lot of this was firsts for me as I’m a newer woodworker

How did you attach the top?  Do you have a guesstimate on how heavy the cabinet is?

Since it’s maple I threaded ( not a thread insert) into the center of the slab (from underneath)I drilled over size holes through the top of the cabinet , on the outer sides and put in screws with washers so The slab can go through wood movement  I lift it by the plywood top and try not to pull on the slab. It’s well attached but I’d rather not risk loosening it. I suspect it weighs less than 30 lbs
