OBSOLETE - Are there new limits to picture sizes after yesterday's maintenance?

I just tried adding a post to one of my old threads with 2 new pictures from my iPhone 6s. In the past I always uploaded pictures at max resolution of the phone. Today I received an error with a very generic error message that implied they might be too big (sorry I didn't copy the exact error message down).

Is there now a limit to attachment sizes?

Thanks

Oh, I really hope so.

It is not necessary at all to upload pictures of 1 Gb and bigger, and it makes the website slow and increases server load.

Come on people, reduce your pictures' file sizes before uploading.

I always uploaded at full resolution because I thought it important, for people that were interested, to be able to zoom in and see the details of the picture.  I think this is important if you are showing off a jig, or piece of furniture you built, so people can understand the details of construction if it is something they want to replicate themselves.

The attachment limit is as follows:

10MB for an individual image.
40MB for all images in a single post

I've confirmed those settings and refreshed the database.

Please let me know if you continue to have issues.

Best regards,

Exactly my thoughts!

Thanks!  I'll give it a try again a little later this afternoon.  If I run into any issues I'll be sure to copy the exact error message this time.

I just tried posting a couple of pictures that were under 4MB each.  It didn't give me any insert option after I had chosen the file (like insert thumb, full size, etc.).  I tried to enter in the html script myself (attachthumb=#  except with square brackets), but that didn't work either  What gives?

Inline attachments are broken at the moment.  When you attach an image, it will place it at the bottom of the post.  This is the standard for SMF forums.  I'm looking to implement a new mod to mimic the functions of the old mod.
