Lately, when I select the Gallery from the main menu another tab opens with the home page instead of the Gallery. [mad]

What's up? And, how does one now access the Gallery?

I find that on the new page I am logged out. Still logged in on the other pages.

The easiest thing would have been to send a message to either myself or Shane and notified us of the issue.  I have now sent a message to Shane, but I know that he is away from the FOG right now.  Sounds like as a byproduct of his implementations  to improve the performance, perhaps a link got messed up.

Please remember, when this was forum was modded to allow for certain things the documentation may or may not have been included in the code change, so that when things happen, other things happen.

Thanks for letting us know and your patience.

Just got a message from Shane in response to my email although I asked him not to.  He is at a formal dinner with 100 people.  There is a problem with the gallery module for the forum and he had noticed it, but there were other things  that took precedence.  The gallery is not a hugely used part of the forum.

He is working on it and he anticipates that the issue will be cured in the coming days.

He sent his apologizes.

Peter: For my part I wanted to confirm that it was a forum problem not specific to "Corwin".

While a PM for a problem that you are sure is not specific to your own setup is a good idea. A post as a heads up will show if it is a problem on your own machine or a more general one.

Also a side effect may be to raise awareness of the gallery :)

To Shane: No apologies are needed. We all appreciate the hard work you put in. As and when is soon enough. [thanks]

JeromeM,

The only reason I mentioned that a PM might have been easier is that when I receive a PM I am notified via email of that message and then I can either attempt to help or seek help.  I think Shane also makes use of that feature.  Sometimes that shortens response time.  We don't receive notification when a post is made in a thread.

Peter

To be clear, I did send Shane a PM the day before I started this thread.  I never receive any response, so I posted here the next day.

Shane must have done something to correct this.  As of yesterday, I have once again been able to access the Gallery.  There are error messages at the top of the page, but it does function.
[thanks]

Just for information.

It isn't working here yet.

When I click the link though I am shown as logged in at the top of the screen I am sent to the login screen.

I am also sent to the login screen and can't reach the gallery. Can't say that I use the gallery much anymore anyways.

But I have noticed another thing that doesn't work right. When I access FOG's homepage I am not automatically logged in and the site treats me as a guest. But when I access one of it's sub pages then it does recognise my profile. Not a big issue, just a little annoyance. Probably the cookie not being read correctly on the home page.

This should be fixed now. Sorry for the delay guys.

PS - I know about the error messages at the top of the gallery screen. They won't affect its operation.
