OBSOLETE - Not able to see images in my own post

I'm new to the forum and only have a few posts. I just listed a couple of items for sale in Classifieds. But when I open my post, it says IMAGE NOT SHOWN - GUESTS CANNOT VIEW ATTACHED IMAGES

Why can't I see the images I've attached to my own post? I am logged in under my username, not as a guest. I believe I attached the images correctly. I frequently post and attach images on other forums, so I think I know what I'm doing.
Thanks for any help or insights.

It seems that some settings might need to be changed.  Can you see them now? Were you logged in before when you tried?

Peter

Peter, I was logged in when I checked my posts. I am logged in now and still get the same message for each image I attached. Can you see the images in my classified posts?

I can see your images. Did you get this squared away?

Seth

I can't see his images.

Apparently all permissions haven't been set correctly yet. You guys are moderators, your permission level is higher by default.

I'm sure Shane will sort it out.

Alex,

There might be a couple of things going on.  I could see the images after Shane edited the classified listing for the CT.  I could view it until a couple of minutes ago.  Then I logged out.  As a guest I could not see the images.

As a moderator I don't think that we have higher level permissions as far as viewing images.  Mainly we have permissions regarding dealing with modifying posts and removing posts and members.  It looks like Shane resized the images down to 1024 in one direction.  SittingElf, in another thread indicated that he thought the limit was 1000 in one direction.  I am going to download the images from the  classified thread and reduce them to less than 1000 and then post back here if you can see it.  It will take me a couple of minutes but I will do right now.

Peter

Here are the images form that other post.  I have included two copies of each image.  One has a max dimension in one direction of 1000 pixels, the second one is max 999 pixels.  Let me know what works.

Thanks, Peter

Yep, I can see these pics in this thread. So you think it depends on size?

Little test, pic = 2592 x 1944  at 1.156 MB

Good morning. I still can't see the images in my post and I am logged into the forum. All the images still show the message that Guests Cannot View Attached Images. Is there something I am missing when I originally attach images?

Yes,

Below are three images sized to 1001 pixels in max dimension.

Let me if these show.

I doubt it is something you are missing. You did it alright. This forum has had a very recent software update. There are a few kinks to work out. Give it some time.

Perhaps you should post a couple of pics in this thread to see if it works.

@Peter, I can see my picture above though it has a very big size. Maybe the problem is with the Classifieds section, it has different permissions than the rest of the board.

File size has been reduced by the board to 384Kb instead of 1.156MB, but the dimensions are still 2592 x 1944.

Try going to that thread, and if you are using Windows hit F5 and see what happens.  You can also clear your cache to make sure you aren't looking at old data.

Alex, I use Photoshop to resize.  When I resize I use the "save for web and devices" option just like I've been doing for the last 5 years.  The 384KB amount is what the software shows when I saved it.  In my software I saved that to max resolution.  I could have probably resized and reduced the quality to get down to less than 80KB without anyone noticing.  I don't have the ability to see the permissions or rules.

I was talking about the picture of my CS70 I uploaded a few posts above as a test. The size is very big but I can see it without problem.

Weird,  looking at it thru tapatalk the inlines are there but the thumbnails are.

Sorry for the trouble. I just checked and there was yet another setting to enable viewing attachments. This must be new in the new version of the forum software as it was unchecked for the Classifieds section, which has unique permissions compared to the rest of the forum.

Have a look now. Again, sorry for the issues.

Shane

Maybe it will change soon, but I just checked Peter's Test post in Classifieds.

This is the result:
