Occidental leather Pro Trimmer belt

The thing about the pro trimmer belt by Occidental is it's not as large as most belts out there. The canvas ones you're showing are huge, I don't need or want all that weight on me for what I do and I really like the all leather design on my Occi.

yeah my setup isn't as large as the Blue one above, more compact. The reason I bought the Occidentals is the speed sq. placement. [big grin] I use to put it in the small of my back or in a pocket, drove me crazy….er  [eek] I wear mine in finished homes all the time. I have the seperate hammer holder in the center of the back, keeps it from hitting my knee or the back of my knee. The right side holds my Husky tape, small slide sq, utility knife, 1" chisel, pencil and a few other daily used tools. the left side holds the Sq. chalk box in the top pocket nail sets and what ever screws or trim nails I an using. I don't fill the pockets because they can hold A LOT of screws and nails lol.

GF,

I'm offering options.  If you're happy with your leather Oxy's, that's what is most important.   However...

If you are referring to my Oxy pouch...   It is a 1553 "Barrel Fastener Bag".   It weighs 1.2 lbs.   The bags (pouches) on the Pro Trimmer set weigh 1.4 and 1.5 lbs each.

If you are referring to my Diamond Back setup...  I chose the larger belt and pouches because I wanted that size.    The belts come in 2, 2.5, 4, 6, and 8 inch sizes - with or without suspender loops: http://www.toolbelts.com/customize.php .  A more compact setup would use a 2-3" belt and something like a Stealth pouch (pic below).  I chose the 6" belt because I have a bad back; narrow belts are very painful for me.

Regarding weight, the Oxy Pro-Trimmer set is 4.3 lbs.  My Diamond Back set is 3.1 lbs. (I weighed it.)   Smaller DB pouches and belt would weigh even less.  Of course, if you like heavy belts...    [cool]

Regards,

Dan.

p.s.  The Oxy leather bags are beautiful.   My brain loves the Oxy's, but my body prefer's the DBs.  [smile]

Options are great and there is no one right answer it's all a matter of personal choice. In regards to the weight of the pro trimmer belt, yes there is heft to it when you pick it up but i find the balance on it to be extremely comfortable. I like the leather pouches because they stay open without drooping, again maintaining a better balance. I too have a bad back having suffered a fractured tailbone not to mention my knees which have been dislocated and tend to grind when the air pressure changes. I haven't tried that brand of belt so I can't comment on which is better and wouldn't attempt to. Would like to check em out but my belt is pretty new and I'm happy with it so I'm no longer in the market for one.

I have had this belt for many years now.  I love it, I just cannot wear it.  Too heavy and it hurts my back. I am an apron guy.  Still try it out every time I am doing frame punch out. Never wore it trimming. Too big.

Any one had any experience with Diamond back, I just got an email saying that it will be 2 months! before my belt will ship. They charged my credit card, I am getting nervous
