Weird stuff.

The turret adjustment on my OF-1010 appears to be stuck..  frozen.  The chrome rod simply won't move up or down and the green adjustment wheel is extremely hard to turn ..  ( lock is loose ) ..

I tried to attach a photo .. not sure if it worked.

This is odd.  I am not aware of something happening to it but who knows..  I wonder if it somehow got full of dust ?

Weird.  in the first photo, the metal above the black plastic looks rusted.  I can assure you its as shiny steel colored as the rest..  its a weird lighting thing, or dust ..  dunno ..

Rick,

Barring a helpful tip from a FOG member, give Festool Service a call. They may be able to take care of the problem over the phone.

I took the assembly apart..  Its bent  [eek]  The chrome tube ..  depth turret has a distinctive shape to it ..  I found the part number online and ordered the replacement part ..

I have no idea how I bent it ..  None, but I also cant see it being a Festool issue either.  Its not so soft that I can bend it back .. lol

I have some idea of how it got bent. Your router probably dropped. (I'm on my third depth stop rod [embarassed]). They changed the design for the of1400 so the rod is protected.

(btw, I always thought the turret was the turning thing with the three setscrews on the base)

It is, the part Rick talks about is called the fine adjustment.

Festool calls it a Depth stop ..  Its basically the chrome rod ..

I must have dropped or banged it ..  I don't remember it happening but that doesn't mean much .. lol

I had this same problem. I fixed it by loosening some tiny screws on the 1010. They actually prevent the green knob from turning if screwed too tight.
I found this out after I tried using pliers on the knob and ruined the plastic burring. Nothing in any manual that I could find. So don't try forcing it, just loosen the screws. Think from memory there are a couple to do.
