OF 1010: router gauge playing tricks

Had a similar problem with my 1400 -- not quite as loose as yours, but loose enough that the gauge would shift with the slightest amount of vibration from the router.  I called Festool and they sent me out a new depth stop rod, so I imagine they will do the same for you.

I'm not in my shop right now, so can't look at my 1010, but have you checked whether there is a set screw on the plastic ring that goes around the metal rod that can be tightened?  There wasn't on my 1400, which is why I needed a whole new rod.

Hi Edward,

Thanks for that. Will have a look tomorrow. I just remember a screw to zero the gauge

Hello Hemdale. Happened to mine. Quick fix is to take the circlip off the bottom of the depth stop rod, then slide off the plastic indicator. You can then crimp the hole slightly reducing the aperture for a tighter fit. Trial and error.
