Hi all,
My router took a fall off my work table and the lock out lever on the plunge depth gauge broke off.  Anybody have any experience with changing it out?  I'd like to get it back up and running as soon as possible but don't want to make things worse.

Thanks for any advice,
Mike

Get a set of drill driven screw extractors. Run the drill in reverse, should come right out.

Other option is, if you have a Dremel type tool grind a slot in the broken piece and remove it with a screw driver.

I'm sure Tom meant to add that you have to drill a hole on the broken screw first (with the drill in forward [wink]) Then insert the screw extractor, driven in reverse.

It looks like there is enough screw proud of the housing that cutting a slot is the quickest solution.

Just echoing Tom...

Looks like enough of the screw is sticking out that vice grips would work.

No you do not have to drill a hole. They make left handed extractors that are self piloting. I have a set.

I do learn something new most every day.

I searched and couldn't find anything that matched the description.
Who are they? I'd be interested in getting a set.
