OF 1400 EQ Router Issue

I have a minimally used 1400 EQ router and just purchased a Festool router table to get more use out of it.  Unfortunately the spindle stop only works in one direction.  When I hold down the tightening side the spindle will lock and I have no problem.  However when I attempt to use the spindle stop to loosen a bit, it will not engage (it will not go down all the way) and the spindle just turns.  I am forced to take the table apart and use two wrenches to loosen the bit.  Any ideas on how to fix this?  The router is 1 year old, but hardly used.    :(

Nothing is wrong with your router.  You need to depress the trigger on the router.  The lock disables the ratchet.

I must admit that Rick's supplemental manual covers this point and I believe that one of the CMS videos also covers it.  I had not paid attention to these because I didn't own one.  Maybe that will change at Christmas!

Been there done that  [embarassed]. I read Ricks  manual, saw his warning on the post here and darn if i didn't disassemble the entire bottom end of my 1400. Won't make that mistake again. The upside the router received a thorough cleaning while apart. See there is upside to everything.  [big grin]
