Of 1400 ratchet gear

Hi all,

I broke the gear that drives the ratchet mechanism for changing bits. It just came apart on me when I was changing a bit.  The machine is quite old, maybe 6 years in fact.  This guy has been a beast of a workhorse for me.

Can I purchase these parts myself somewhere?  Or do I need to send to festool for repairs.

I would suggest act you pick up a phone tomorrow and call Festool USA service and explain your situation.  I suggest calling because they really are great on the phone and talking can be more beneficial than emailing.  They will be able to tell you if it is a difficult repair, etc.  You can go to the spare parts catalog on the website and look up parts but perhaps they can also help you with that.

Ultimately I see you sending it in.

Just send it in, save yourself the aggravation. Thats what I do. I pay for the shipping to them, they pay for the return shipping. They go through the tool and replace anything that they find issues with and when you get it back its mechically like a new tool
