Hi guys,  I have the OF 1400.  Using it on a guide rail with the support ( piece 26, page 92 festool 2009 catalog).  The support piece is scraching my work piece.  The ONLY complaint I have about the OF 1400 is this support piece.  Seems kind of cheap to me.  I was hoping that someone could help me out.  I am thinking of making my own base plate to make up the for the gap when using the 1400 with the guide rail.  Has anyone made a base plate? If so,  what type of material did you use?  Any pics of this?  Any and all help would be great.  Thanks guys.  Happy Thanksgiving.

Thanks Jesse,  Looks like I got something to do this weekend!  I also found out that festool made a base plate for this problem.  I contacted Bob Marino for one.  My plan is to make a base plate and buy the festool base plate.  I hope that I can take the quick snapping plate off the festool base plate and install it on the base plate I make.  Only because I have read that the festool base plate still leaves a gap between the router and the base plate.

Here's another option.  Craig's Sled

The snap-in base that I have for my OF1400 only adds 3mm (not the 5mm that is needed), so it does not work to keep the router plumb when on the rail.
