OF 1400 Trammell Unit

I recently picked up off eBay a 1300mm trammel for the Festool routers. It is the OF-FZ 1300. Pretty nice plexi/acrylic. Like the saddle routing aid.
It's a "Festo" branded product, and I did some research. It was last in the 2005 catalog, and then disappeared in 2006.
It wasn't cheap back then, at about 12x the price of the short trammel ($193 vs. $16). With price increases it'd be pushing about $250 now, I suppose.

Anyway, I will be putting it to use within the next two weeks making some 30" diameter round end tables for my wife. The current trammel has 30" as its extreme limit and wasn't feeling as stable as I'd like for such a big routing task.
Various retailers have similar circle jigs.

+1 on Peter's recommendation of the MFS. Super accurate and flexible.
If this is for a one-off project, they are easy to make. Use some plywood scrap. Use the base of your router to mark where screw holes should be drilled. Get some longer screws and screw the router to the end of the ply. Plunge down to reveal the bit location. Then measure the radius from the inner or outer edge of the bit, drill a hole for the pivot (nail, screw, rod, whatever) and you are done. Need another radius? Drill another pivot hole.

This has been said before, but skip the Festool trammels, there are far better and the best made, IMHO is the Micro Fence system.
Get a Micro Fence and get true precision and less monkeying around. The Micro Fence is made to order for precision matched radii and the only thing better that I have found is a CNC.
Festool really should get something of the Micro Fence caliber going. As it stands now my most accurate set up is anything with the Micro Fence attached. I happen to have an OF 1400 on one set up and an OF1010 on another and a floater Micro for any router I choose.
I am not sure there is anything that matches a Festool router on a Micro Fence for circle and radius cutting with a hand router. If there is I have not found it.
Well, the little base that Micro Fence makes is sweet, but does not allow for a very powerful router.

But i must admit, for smaller circles and cutouts it's a bit bulky to use, so the mentioned alternatives may be better here.
