Used my brand new festool of 2200 eb router for the first time yesterday with an straight 1/2 edging router bit. Router was sat in the guide rail and used the rail clamps provided.
After a couple of passes I noticed a fine aluminium powder all over the grey painted areas of the machine similar to the aluminium oxide powder used in fingerprint detection. The blade wasn't touching anything it shouldn't. I have owned a 1400 before and that didn't do this. The spindle is rough to turn and I am wondering if there is anything amiss in the internals. I will be contacting my supplier but for curiosity sake just wondered if anyone else had sustained a similar issue or is the machine just bedding in?
