OF1400 move

It took me opening up a classic systainer to finally understand what all of the commotion was about.

The picture on the T-Loc Systainer Lid Insert of the OF 1400 in its Systainer, is a picture of the OF 1400 hanging out in a Classic Systainer.  This is deduced by the shape of the Systainer, which has 90-degree corners on the front insets vs 45-degree angles on the front insets.

I didn't even look at the corners, but at the protruding part on the side where the Systainer Classic has it's "rib"; where it's widest inside.
Two professional woodworkers pondering which version of a box for tools had what angle where.

Hard to argue with women when they say we are all just overgrown kids.
[big grin] [big grin] [big grin]

Guilty as charged.

Well, in general men are more interested in 'things' (besides women of course [tongue]) and women on average more interested in people. Hence... engineers are 99% men and nurses are 95% women.

But do you just happen to have two OF 1400's to make that pic?  [huh]

Guilty as charged.

I got the first one on a deal with a Lamello P2.

The second one is a Recon buy and was intended to live in my CMS, it just hasn't made it there yet.

Let me guess; an OF-2200 is blocking the CMS spot  [tongue]

I really need to read slower when tired. I read "the second one was a racoon"  [cool]

Even I don't have two OF1400s....what am I doing with my life [unsure]
Two OF1010s and two MFK700s are just not enough anymore  [blink]
Just kidding, I don't have an OF2200 either.  [embarassed]

I've had every brand and model router over the years but when I bought my ELU MOF177E decades ago I thought that was THE best router on the planet. After getting the OF2200 I am blown away with it, and it's definitely the best router I've ever owned. The sheer power, smoothness, and balance is just amazing!

It is a sheer joy to use, you would love one! ;-)

I know that this is going to sound silly, from a guy who has an Origin, but I just can't get past the price of the OF2200.
In general, if I need a router that big/powerful, I try to take it to the table. I suppose if I had the need for a hand-held that big, I would get over it. So far that hasn't happened.
If I had one, I am sure it would get used, but at that price?

The original Classic Systainer version of the OF 1400 didn't have a handy "here's how everything fits in the inserts" image on it, unfortunately.  They may have made the insert for the T-Loc before they had them finalized?

Here they are side by side.

That parallel guide is definitely not stored in the original way ;)

I took a look in my OF 1400 Classic systainer, and the same; no photo on the inlay  [scared]

And with the TS 55 F they show two photos; one with the saw in the systainer, the 2nd without the saw but including all the accessories you can fit... most not supplied  [tongue]

Anyone kno if you can order the bottom form and lid print out and styrofoam for the Sys3 from Festool?

I moved mine from a Classic systainer into one, but man, i wish i had a nice picture of how to store the stuff in it! haha

I've only ever gotten a 'no' on the lid insert (the foam part).

My situation is not typical, but I ordered a tool off of recon and received it with a completely mangled piece of foam in the lid; Festool sent me a replacement piece of foam with a piece of double-sided tape already applied and just waiting to be peeled-and-stuck.

I thought that the printed graphical inserts were nigh impossible to get?  I've never tried, myself.

The lid insert (cardboard part) of my PS-300 Systainer has become useless anyway; the whole jigsaw blade assortment changed, with everything getting slightly changed or changed product number.
