i know i use the 1010 for the trim stuff and the 2000is big enough......i am sure i will fold but i do not need them right now and thats my story and i am sticking with it. ::) ::) ;D, by the way you do nice work.

Well clearly you need the TS55EQ and a Domino to round out your hoard. And with only 2 MFT1080's you're a rank amateur by Nickao's standards!

I'm sure the German economy appreciates your attention to their country's financial issues. What kind of BMW do you drive?  ;)

i hate to point this out but the domino is the df500 set and is in the list. as for my perceived table deficiency i would have the mft 3 but for the lack of my ability to BUY MORE profile so i could have even more table......you are right, i should have more mfts.......forgive me for my deficiencies  ;D

My list is equally, um, depressing, as you put it.  But I don't see it as depressing really; rather, each group of new things furthers the capabilities and capacities of many of the other tools and accessories -- the Festool 'system', if you will.

Or, by depression, were you referring your (or the) current financial situation?  If so, I would agree that it can be depressing seeing these new offerings -- which leads to the question, "just how far should one descend down the proverbial slope?"  Or maybe, "just when I thought I was out, they pulled me back in" would apply -- that's my outlook with the MFT3, as I was nearly done with my MFT collection (was being the operative word).

I too only have a few but am trying ever so hard to add more.  :) :D ;D ;) Fred

PS I may have a Kapex heading my way in July but other than that, OH the pain!!! 8)

How mortifyingly amateur of me to not know that! My feeble excuse is that I had just finished a dinner with a nice bottle of wine, and my brain was addled  :P :D

And as for your depression, I think you're taking a pessimist's view of things: I feel a great rush and anticipation when I'm planning a Festool purchase (probably like women get when they buy new shoes). I confess to feeling a bit of a let-down once I've got the tool. However, this is quickly replaced by great joy when I use it, and a sense of pride in my growing Festool collection. On the scale of things, it's a pretty inexpensive way to own the highest-quality, top-of-the-line representatives of a collection. Better than wasting money on, say, a Rolex or a Ferrari. At least you can make beautiful things for other people with your tools. What's a Rolex good for?

So take joy in your amazing tool collection! Go build something.

And post pictures here.

my depression is complex.....one i wish i had not bought all of the tools that i replaced with festools......the owning of festools s great.....like most addictions it is unwise to add it up......however i a am glad i am not buying it all over again and at these higher prices.....also my loaner bag aka "bitch bag"is now busting with  non festools......you can barrow anything in the bag but stay away from the whit boxes ;D

My depression comes from the fact that business is so unbelievably bad at the moment that I haven't been able to buy a new Festool since I got my ETS150/3 in November last year. That's over 6 (yes, six!) months ago!!!

Actually, it's so bad I'm not able to pay my bills, and the bank are now seriously on my back, but it's the lack of new tools that I'm feeling most!

One my secrets of successful Festool acquisition is letting my wife choke herself on new shoes anytime she wants. It makes my stuff cheap by comparison (it's the frequency, she spends less many times, I spend more once at a time). Then when it gets too out of hand, she has to flog them on Ebay before she gets any more. Whereas I don't turn over the tools, and as long as the tools keep producing checky, we can keep ourselves in new shoes. The great cycle of life.

Well that's it exactly, Eli: How can you object to having a fine collection of expensive tools if you use them to generate income? Or at least to build things to bring joy to people? Every tool is an investment in the great unknown - what wonderful project will be the direct product of these tools? I only get depressed because I can't think of how I might use more of these tools! My wife (and daughter for that matter) is firmly in support of my habit - even asking what new tools I need. The depressing part is not having an answer!

Hang in there, tallgrass. It may not be cheaper than crack, but it's potentially more productive.

So once again, BUILD SOMETHING! (This is your therapist speaking)  :D

i will say i am glad that the entire festool catalog is not available.....i would have to buy more bags to store my non festools. i also admit that just looking at my stacks of festools gets rid of any depression.

It seems to me that the source of your depression is the fact that you paid all that money for the NON-Festools, which you are now replacing with the Festools. I think if you ask around, you'll find that most people went that route. I am one of the fortunate ones who was not wealthy enough to accumulate tools when I was young - I always used a local workshop at the university or something. So when I could afford to buy tools, I went with Festools right away, avoiding that investment (?) of funds on the Ryobis and Black & Deckers.

So perhaps a palliative would be to put your now-useless non-Festools up for sale? Sure, you can lend them to friends, but if you sold them you might earn enough to get that MFT3. Or a Kapex! Now there's a deal!

Free advice: worth what it costs.

well, for starters if you were to tell me that me face, i would need something worthless to throw at you. ;D ;D they still have utility, if i have to cut a piece of crap in half, or something nasty, i do not have to defile my festools, hence the need to keep the bitch bag....good job in avoiding unnecessary exposure to substandard tools. ;D

Maybe you could stop cutting crap altogether. ;D ;D :D I mean what kind of dust collector would you use?

i wish........it is not common thank god.....i use a rigid when vacuuming up the muck unfit for my festool, actually it is great besides being too loud too bulky and no hepa filter. other than that its great. but it cost 1 tenth so, not toooooooo bad.
