Old Surfix oil--still OK to use?

I've got two unopened containers of heavy indoor Surfix oil. They've been stored in an unheated/unairconditioned garage for about 3 years (temp range probably low 30's to 100 degrees F). Is the oil still good to go? Or should I just throw them away and start fresh?

I should think it would probably be ok, but I don't know the Surfix heavy oil specifics. Does it smell a little rancid? And is it a similar consistency throughout the tin?

My oils don't generally last as long as three years so it's hard to comment.

The manual says at least 5 years if unopened. Check the manufacture date on the container. I would test on a scrap board first as well if in doubt.
