Just got a knock at our delivery door.... CASES of the New Festool Catalogs, UNBELIEVABLE!
New vacs, new cordless, new systainers, new jigsaws, new accessories, tons of new stuff. But something interesting, nothing is priced in the catalog, hmmmmm

When you say new, is it new to you or everyone.  Or is it the stuff we have had for ages  [poke]

Sorry, couldnt resist  [tongue]

Yes, that's true, no prices in the new catalog is what I was told would be the new trend.

It is a new strategic direction from Festool so our wifes can not easily look in the catalog and find out how much we pay for our Festool stuff. [tongue]

It allows for price fluctuations due to market change and this catalog will also stay out longer like the old one did.

Hey Peter, that very good.    [thumbs up]

I'm heading to the post office this morning to mail out some of the new catalogs, if anyone wants one just let me know.

Noticed two omissions from the new 2011/2012 catalog, the Vs 600 Joining System and the complete list of router bits? [sad]

I, too, was quite dismayed by the latter one. The 2009 has been my go-to reference on Festool router bits. No offense to Shane, but trying to find the right router bit on the Festool site is an exercise in frustration. Guess I'll have to hang on to my old catalogs just for that. :)

Hi Greg,

Although I already have a dovetail jig I seldom use, does the omission of the Vs 600 from the 2011/2012 catalog mean it is discontinued?

Also, I am finding a whole lot of typos and other errors in the new catalog. In a thread called Price List Errors we discussed the mistakes about saw blades for the TS55 (page 62)  In my experience editing publication, listing a blade that has been off the market a significant length of time goes way beyond a typo. Listing the kerf incorrectly is not just a typing mistake.

As much as I love and make money with every Festool I own, I am concerned what will happen when I need to order supplies such as blades and bits from the new catalog and do not realize the part number is an error.

As a former VS600 owner, we can only hope Festool's got something better up their sleeve, as they so often do!
