I am restoring a number of windows who's jambs and sills have rotted. My question is whether to pre prime glue up areas eg lap joints and jamb to sill. I will be using "Honduran Mahogany" and Titebond III.

Thanks

Smear the glue over the entire surface, make sure it is thick enough to account for squeeze out. That will seal it, TB III is waterproof when dry.

Are you you referring to only those areas that will be glued together?
I pre-prime all areas that don't get glued, do my glue up sand and prime again, making sure all end grain is completely coated.
I don't prime lap joints etc. because TB III is waterproof anyway and I get a better bond with raw wood. Lap joints, while sometimes a necessity are always a problem because of the exposed end grain.
