One great thing about Festool Products is how well they hold their value. If one looks at the sold prices on the completed listings under "Advanced" on eBay it is very clear that Festool products hold their value quite well. They do so much better than Makita or Bosch. This has major benefits for the Festool Enthusiast. When it comes time to sell a Festool you know that you can relatively easily recoup most of your investment and do so relatively quickly because of their great reputation and demand. Another benefit is that you can purchase a Festool to see how you like it and see if it will meet your needs or expectations, knowing that if it does not work your risk is small.

This *has* been mentioned several times before, but it's worth repeating! Members have stated that they've sold machines they've had for several years, and between the phenomenon you mentioned and price increases they actually got ALL of their money back.
