So I just bought a new CT26 and a UDD.  The problem I am having is it seems there is a leak somewhere as I hear stuff circling around in the cyclone.  I checked everything and it seems like the gasket on the lid and the gasket to the cyclone are good.  I was thinking of just caulking the cyclone to the lid but wanted to see if anyone else has any tips on troubleshooting this?  The only other thing I could think is i put a bag in the UDD that came with it but it's not staying flat as I drape it over the sides of the container and where the lid sits.  That's the only other thing I think could be causing the problem. Thanks in advance.

I cut more plastics than anything.  That rattling around is lighter pieces that have not dropped.  If I get too irritated I simply lift off the suction side hose(top of DD) and the pieces fall down.  View attachment 1

That swirling is normal.

Well , at least it happens with every cyclone I've used in the last twenty years.

You can get a smoke stick ??? to check off leaks.  It's the thing guys in HVAC industry to ferret out leaks.  I've forgotten exactly what it's called off hand.  Supply house will know what you're talking about though.

Does your UDD function as intended? I.e. traps 99.9 or whatever % of dust while maintaining decent suction?
Is stuff circling inside the cyclone or the box below?
If it is inside the cyclone it is normal. It all depends on density and size of the debris. Most stuff slowly makes its way down, some objects might keep circling for a long time or until you shut the flow.

I checked today and it seems to have a leak. I was doing some sheet rocking work in the garage to build an enclosure for my clearvue cyclone so I figured I would use the UDD.  While it did seperate a decent amount of the dust the hose into the CT was covered in dust as well and while I did not check the bag it feels like the suction has dropped off a bit. I am going to go ahead and caulk the top to the cyclone and see if that helps.
