Hi all. I just started buy this stuff (RO90, RO150 and CTS150 and had a vac question. I've been saving up for the Onieda Supercell, which is a 5hp high CFM 1.5-4"-hose dust collector with a cyclone, made work on larger shop tools (which I prioritize in my shop). Because it's just 3 shop vacum motors instead of a larger impeller motor, it still having the suction for sanding and routing.https://www.oneida-air.com/dust-collectors/new-systems/supercell

I can use my shop vac, while I save for the Onieda or buy a CT. Spending 600-850$ on a CT would put my larger dust collection dreams further out in the future by a year or so. Is there any reason that I would one day need both? I appreciate the auto start but I can live with a remote for the dust collector. Will I really notice the variable speed on things like sanders and Dominos, maybe a track saw one day? I'm 95% in my shop and 5% in my own house, so portability is and HEPA for job site standards is moot.

You will definitely notice the need for lower suction with the smaller sanders like DTS, RTS and ETS. It will not have an effect on most other tools like the saws or a Domino. You can make a bleeder valve on the hose to lower the suction mechanically instead of electronically on the vac. But a Festool vac is way more comfortable to work with.
