Opinion on festools new 4ft level

It's a Stabila with a few extra's from Festool.

Just the fact alone it is a Stabila should make one warm and fuzzy.

The nice Badging, lighted vials, and the solid top with metric and imperical lay-out scale is handy as well.

I bought the Festool (Stabila) level and love it.  When working on soffits in a kitchen remodel, I found the lighted vials very helpful in seeing the bubble.  On several occasions, we popped the light out of the level and used it as a flash light to be able to see up under the kitchen sink for the plumbing install.  How convenient that was.  When measuring for centering the hood, we used the centering scale imprinted on the top of the level.  I wish my other Stabilas had the lights and centering scale.  Now, I hope Festool will do a shorter version to add to the fleet.

i got one 2 months ago and have been using it pretty regulary.  I have every level stabilia makes except the framing extended ones for plate to plate.  I love the lights they are helpful at times.... sorta like the little lights when drills first started using them everybody said why,  now why not!  so it helps. also the engraved measuring on the top has been helpfull as I was hanging some pics and towel racks recently and it came in very handy.

so if those things are helpful for you go get it.  it will last 15 years or more but lets take 10 years at using it 50 times a year thats 500 uses thats only 10 cents per use for the extra $50.00 that this level cost extra over the regular stabilia and if you use it twice as much then 5 cents per use.  any way  (I used to sell ins for 17 years and that is how we broke down selling life insurance... for 50cents a day you can protect your family.  blah blah blah.)

my theory.... If I want it i get it. cost usually is not a factor as long as I have bucks I spend it... !!!

so let me LEVEL with you.... go get it!  lol

I have been looking at this level as well. Been looking at the digital Stabila as well. (It seems that of late, I have been doing a lot of `angle work`. I like the features of both. I think that I have decided that I will wait until I can get one that has all of the features I want: lighted vials, etched scale, magnetic, digital.
[2cents]
