Hello-

I've noticed a number UK based Festool dealers selling products on eBay, and it appears that they're willing to ship to North America.  Has anyone tried to obtain "forbidden" Festool products this way?  If so, were they will to ship to the US?  How hideous were the shipping charges?

Cheers,

Paul

Yes - I purchased a tool set in systainer on ebay from the UK. The airmail cost was reasonable (don't recall the exact amount), but it was shipped UPS and I was charged a customs fee. First time for that, usually I get International deliveries via the USPS and have yet to pay any additional fees to them.

I will say most UK dealers will probably tell you they will not ship to you if you ask, despite what their ebay text says. The dealer I purchased from initially told me no, but I mentioned to them that the item was NAINA, so they were not taking the sale away from a US based dealer.

You might have better luck finding a friend or FOG member in the UK willing to send the item as a gift, rather than a dealer sending it to you.
Anyhow - good luck!

You might want to try contacting some of our UK members on the FOG.
They can purchase some of the NAINA goods for you.
Some of the UK shops don't charge any shipping costs within the UK.
Later on this person can ship it to your address in the USA.
Like this you only have to pay shipping costs one time.

I know a person in the UK who has already done this a few times.

You'll find better prices just looking for the item you want via the part number. I got my 98-piece installers set that way after looking for a used one for a year. After shipping it was marginally more than what they're now going to be when offered in Dec. the trick is to just keep contacting different dealers as some will and some won't. It's a hassle but it certainly works.
