Some guys are hobby woodworkers and some making a living from it. I just wondered what other hobbies or interests you guys might have other than woodworking?

I play a little guitar and make vintage replica effects pedals or stompboxes.

I'm retired and it's real hard scheduling my busy hobby schedule!  Golf two or three times a week, working out at the gym, walking my son's dog,  gardening and cooking almost everyday, hunting with my Air Rifles almost daily, yard and home repair all of the time - Oh Yeah I do woodworking - where do I find the time?[wink]

Ye golf, I joined a club last year I think I've played twice. Pretty expensive 2 rounds of golf  [tongue]
I live 20 minutes from St Andrews and am surrounded by great golf courses but don't get much time. Or weather for that matter.

In California the golf weather has been spectacular but, we are experiencing a drought and our water supplies are drying up rapidly so, I don't know how much longer the golf courses will be green [unsure]

Tell me more. Just how little is that guitar?  [poke]

Paddle boarding when it warms up.  Golf as well.  South Carolina has quite a few courses.

target shooting, hope to get into International Defensive Pistol Association shooting when I get a little better

My first love is fly fishing; both single hand and two hand (spey) rods.  Woodworking is something I do when I cannot fish.

Besides woodworking, I'm into photography and triathlon/marathon.

When I first got into triathlon, I thought that was expensive. Hah! Little did I imagine.

jacko9- what do you hunt with the air rifles and what kind do you use?

for hobbies i ride bikes around town and go backcountry skiing, mostly in california in the spring time.

Sporting clays, skeet, trap, metallic silhouette and target shooting when I have the time.  Of course, there's reloading after the fact, and at certain times of the year, landscape photography.

I'm a short walk to Long Reef golf course ... have new clubs and I'm a member, but golf is so boring! Think I have 6 golf courses and an all weather golf range within 15 minutes - oh well.

Just ordered a third standup paddle board - Fanatic Falcon Carbon 14' 30". Can't wait for it to hit.

Sydney weather and living at the beach has me skin diving and spear fishing, SUPing, surfing, ocean ski paddling ... plus lots of cycling, both road and MTB. The toys tend to pile up.

But I consider all of these to be sports or activities, not hobbies.

Where do reading and movies fit - are they hobbies? Music? Theatre? ...

Collecting is certainly a hobby ...

Guitars I tend to collect (because I'm rubbish at playing them) somewhere on the wrong side of 20 now [embarassed]

... and I really do like romantic dinners and long walks on the beach with my wife!

Rofl Kev, you really need to put effort into those romantic dinners & walks to retain a high acceptance ratio on you gadget collecting hobbies :-P

I guess I'm almost as bad with photography equipment (people & landscape), all things computer gadgets, collecting comics, fine dine & slow cooking and reading fiction. On the activities front I do boxing, sea kayaking and swimming and target shooting when I find time.

I sail a hurricane 5.9sx every Sunday thou this years storms have made that a little difficult!! Last year we placed fifth at the nation championships, so hope to improve on that this year

Photography is my second addiction.  I drive my wife crazy between photography and woodworking, there is always some new gadget I need.  I also love to travel.

Sportbikes.  My woodworking shop space keeps encroaching on my motorcycling shop space these days.  I had to move my 12 year old MV Agusta into my living room a couple of months ago. I'm trying to convince everyone that the bike, because of its beauty, is really sculpture!

Cool thread. Road cycling, mountain biking (single speed), cyclocross, rock climbing, mountaineering, a bit of sailing, running, reading, and chess. Spent a lot of years in the last few decades training in Shudokan karate (mix of Goju-ryu and Shito-ryu) and traveling (usually for mountaineering & rock climbing). Haven't been able to get out and travel as much in the last several years.
