Outside Diameter of a D27 Antistatic hose

I would like to know the exterior diameter of the vacuum end (the end that plugs into the vacuum) of the D27 Antistatic hose, Festool Product No. 452878.  I am considering the addition of a Domino DF500 to my shop equipment, but since I already own 2 excellent Fein Vacuums, it would have to marry up to one of these existing vacuums.  The Fein vacuum has a intake port that measures 2-1/4 in.  If it is any help, the hose for the Mirka sander that I recently purchased fit the Fein Vacuum perfectly.  If it not 2-1/4 inches, does Festool offer an adapter to this vacuum?

Hi fritz0126,

Welcome to the FOG!  [smile]

Most shop vac have a standard size on the vac. The Festool hose vac ends fit that standard size. I am guessing it should be no problem. I know that others here have  Fein vacs in use with Festool, and are using a variety of hoses and tool end adapters. I am sure they will  add to this thread.

The outer diameter of the vac end (the plastic part, not the hose) ist 58 mm. This ist the standard size and should fit all vacs from premium vendors like Fein, Festool/Protool and Mafell.

Both the 27mm and 36mm hoses fit the Fein fine...  [crying]  They're 2-1/4 OD and give you a nice interference fit. I have the old Turbo II and have used both hoses on it with no adapters needed.

You probably could make the Fein step adapter work with the Domino, I've used one on the TS55, OF1010 and the OF1400. They fit the 1-1/4 Fein hose end and can be trimmed to fit most any smaller tool port male or female.

HTH,
Bill

I use the Fein step adapter mentioned above with my Fein Turbo 1 with all of my Festools.  It is reasonably soft and can be cut down easily.  I bought 3 initially, in case I needed to fit to other tools, and have used 2 of them so far.  I bought the Fein vac before I got into Festool, but have had no problems integrating them.

You mean you use the Fein adapter with the Fein hose to connect to other tools.  I don't want the op to get confused, he was asking if a Festool hose fits a Fein vac without adapters.  The answer seems to be yes.
