It's the kind of thing you don't think you'll ever need, but you're glad when it works!!
Was using the CT22E with one of my sanders. I wanted to suck up a little dust that got away without the sander attached. I'm lazy, so instead of walking to the vacuumn to turn it on, I just unhooked the sander, turned on the sander, then used the hose. I then went back to work with the sander (without the hose attached -- just forgot to re-attach it).
Turns out the end of the vac hose sucked up part of my drop-cloth, overheated the vacuum, then shut itself off. I didn't realize what happened until I re-attached the vac hose to the sander, turned on the sander, and the vacuum wouldn't start. I had to walk over the vacuum, turn the power off and then on again, and then it worked fine.
I assume what happened is that the vacuum overheated and the built-in "breaker" shut the vacuum off protecting itself. BRAVO FESTOOL!!!!! Any other vacuum would have become toast, I'm sure.
TP
