Over the last 10 years I have been continualy frustrated with changing vacuum hoses when I switch tools. I wanted to use vac connections that have inputs for each tool without switching hoses every time I changed tools. I know Festool has the "Y" Adapter and it works well on my CMS router table. However, when connecting multiple single tools to the Y-adapter the vacuum pulls from both connections thereby reducing the vacuum CFM at each tool. I wanted a blast gate. Festool does not offer one that I am aware. I have tried various other brand blast gates, but then I end up with incompatible hose connectors.  [sad] I found a blast gate made by StaySharpWoodworking on Etsy. It just arrived and I am EXTREMELY impressed. I have connected it and it works perfectly allowing me to stay 100% Festool except for this one item. Fortunately, it is Festool blue & green so it looks like a match.  [big grin] I don't know if other people have been frustrated with the same problem, so I thought I would pass on my experiences in this area. I hope it benefits someone.

Is it a concern in terms of suction loss that the 2-way blast gate (hoses) is at a right angle to the suction hose? The switch design does look promising though.

I asked because the SawStop right angle elbow makes its over-the-table dust collection arm much less effective.

The first day using the StaySharp blast gate was yesterday and it work well on the Kapex, sander and track saw. It is connected to a CT-15.

The blast gate from StaySharpWoodworking reminds me this 3-way blast gate on printables.com.

Recently a new 2-way blast gate showed up, it looks more compact and easier to use with a single lever.

From your etsy link, this caught my attention:

In one of the photos, the caption says "Sorry for the Orange!" Why? Ridgid is a decent tool, with life-time warranty (and that's how I got a free thickness planer replacement).
