Why does Festool not offer router and CMS packages??  or am I missing something

I agree - the router is a 'tool' the CMS is a 'table'.

It would seem to parallel a track saw / MFT/3 table or a sander / MFT/3 table combination.

???

What about any combinations other than a tool and dust extractor?

My first Festool purchase was a TS55 Saw, MFT3 Table, and CT 36 Extractor. Obviously I got a package price for the saw and Extractor, and I enjoyed getting a deal.

Fast forward to some recent purchases, Domino DF500 Q Set, and Tennon assortment. No package deal. Why not? Seems logical to me.

OF1400 EQ Router, LR32 Set in Systainer, LR32 1400mm Guide Rail. No package deal. Why not? Seems logical to me. (Soon to be added CMS-GE Router Table Set. Would have got at the same time, but not like I am missing out on a package price or anything.)

Looking at purchasing a Kapex KS 120 EB along with the UG Set very soon. No package deal available. Why not? Seems logical to me.

I get that Festool packages a tool with the extractors for a package deal. I do not want to purchase an extractor every time I want to buy a tool in order to get a deal. Festool seems to never really run any sales either. Why not incentivize the consumer, and get them to buy into the product line, and "system approach" by giving some type of package deal like on the examples I made above. Heck throw in a blade, a mat to stand on, or a pair of clamps, something to show their appreciation for our brand loyalty. Walking away with your purchase with a decent "free" gift or a small break on the price would increase sales I bet. People would be more likely to buy 2 or 3 pieces together to save a few bucks instead of buying one tool here, one accessory there.

Agreed, your combination suggestions make perfect sense, especially the Domino with tenon assortment and the LR32/router.

Just FYI, at least in the USA, Festool has run several promotions in the past couple of years, offering a discount on the Domino, Planex and most recently the Kapex. These were across the board discounts on the tool and most accessories. I dont recall if they also applied in Canada

I did see the deal they ran on the Kapex recently, and I think it was offered up here in the Great White North even. Unfortunately the timing was not right for me and I wasn't able to take advantage of it. Now I have an envelope full of $100 bills and I'm jonesing to buy something. Festool can afford to run the package deal with any Extractor/Tool combo day in and day out and they are not losing money. I suspect they could also afford to run a package deal on a Kapex and UG set year round and it wouldn't kill them either as an example. In fact I bet it would increase sales.

I work in the sporting goods industry, diving equipment to be exact. We package product so the more you buy the better discount you get. People know they are saving money, so they tend to buy the entire package vs buying one piece here, one piece there. It is a win win for the end user, who gets a discount, and for my company as we increase sales. Would be nice if Festool did something like this.

I have spent a few thousand dollars on Festool's in the last month and am about to do it again. I just wish there is something they could do to make me feel like I was getting some kind of reward for my brand loyalty and for buying into their system.

These are all interesting suggestions. I'll pass them along to the right folks. Thanks, guys.

Thanks TylerC for listening and passing along to the right people. Much appreciated.

What Welsh Wood posted links to is exactly what I am talking about. It would be great for us in NA to have the ability to get some of these deals. I would love to get a deal like he posted on a Kapex system. Heck I would likely buy more of the accessories at the same time. My money has been spent already but again, I would have loved to get in on a Domino deal like posted as well. Why can't Festool offer this year round? I don't think they would lose any money, I suspect they would still get it all as a lot of us would buy extra blades, clamps, or sandpaper, etc at the same time with the money we otherwise saved

Exactly!

As otherwise stated, some kind of 'loyalty' from them would also be nice, after all, we invest THOUSANDS into their system (It's brilliant stuff, the best by all means) but it would be nice to have an incentive to buy from them.

Best advice I can give is find you'll local dealer, have a chat with them, i've found when I've bought multiple items in one transaction, they will budge on price, or chuck in a few freebies!

They can't do it in NA.  It would violate Festool's pricing contracts and they could lose their ability to sell Festool products.  Rockler lost their Festool contract in a similar fashion.

The sort of promos they run in Oz are really annoying ... anyone with a decent investment in Festool already get little benefit if any. I get it that they're trying to attract new business, but what about some loyalty to the customers that have been loyal to them?
