I make my living in the high tech world of network engineering where every meeting must be buzz word compliant. However, my passion is woodworking and I am building some painted cabinets and I came across some terminology that I can not find a reference to on the world wide interwebby thing.
Can someone please educate me on what a manufacture means when they say things like Finish: 35-45 units@ 60 or another paint in this case it was SW ProClassic Interior Waterbased Acrylic-Alkyd Satin and this is what was listed.
Drying Time, @ 77°F, 50% RH: (Ok I think I get this part)
temperature and humidity dependent
Tack free: 20 - 40 minutes ( Ok I understand that it will be tack free in about 40 minutes)
Touch/hard: 1-2 hours ( Yes it will be hard in 1-2 hours)
Recoat: 3-4 hours (OK I can apply a 2nd coat in 3-4 hours)
Finish:
24 hours 27-37 units @ 60° ( WTF does this mean)
30 days 20-30 units @ 60° (yikes 30 days)
Now I am considering using the other SH pro Classic but I still have no idea what this 35-45 units means to me. Can someone shed some light. I just hate not understanding something. I googled it but could not find it.
