Paolini broke today and I want something else

Today, the Paolini screw broke off. Generally, when a tool breaks, I replace it with something better. I never liked the way the Paolini tightened anyway, although I found the tool very useful and want to replace it with something else...maybe something better. (It probably broke because I would have to really tighten those little screws to get it to hold.)

I need something in metric that is short enough to put in my shop jacket front pocket.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Yes, that happened to me and several other users. Woodpeckers sent out replacement aluminium knurled screws soon after the release of the rule- you should contact them and get them sent to you.

The new screws work excellently.

How's that for a happy response to your post?!  [wink]

Yes! This is a Happy response. Thanks.

Woodpecker didn't like the original screws, for the Paolini, either. I contacted customer support via email. Rep. Brian Kristensen promptly replied and sent me out a replacement bracket with the new screws. The new screws are a great improvement. Three cheers for excellent customer support!  [big grin]
Now, my Paolini rule is back in the top pocket of the workshop apron. It is a wonderful tool. I use it just about everyday. My fourth Woodpecker tool...with more on the horizon.
