I need to get some more parallel clamps.  I am fond of the Bessey brand.  Who has the best prices on these clamps?

Also, if anyone feels strongly about another brand, please share!

Andy

I have been buying the 50" and 24" Bessey parallel clamps at Home Depot.  Prices are reasonable and no shipping costs if you pick them up in the store.

I have a couple old school bessey parallel clamps I tend to use the most.

My local Home Depot has the dewalt clone parallel clamps being cleared out at $28 (24”) and $35 (48”) might be worth checking your store.

Been using Bessey for decades. Bought some Jets at a great price. Can’t stand the Jets compared to the Bessey. Bunch of minor differences add up to annoyance.

I’ve always preferred Bessey, I just wish they would do the vario in all lengths. The ability to be able to move the normally fixed jaw, is a great idea and means the clamps can be balanced.
They start at 1000mm and go up in 500mm increment to 2500mm. Why can’t they make all the lengths available with this function?

Over here, we get deals when buying sets of four or more.

I’ve heard mixed reviews on the Jet clamps.

I have not seen anyone beat Home Depot’s price of $44.98/ea for the 50” Bessey REVO. I think that HD only sells the 24” and the 50” so if you want another size you might have to reach out on the interweb 😊.

Much like Michael, I've been buying Bessey's clamps for years.  I have at least 8 of each size up to 60".  I helps to have 48 year span to buy few at a time whether I needed them at the time or not.  Have done the same thing with spring clamps, probably have 40-50, used to buy the 2"ers at the Depot every time I went as the were only a buck or so.

Speaking of spring clamps, why can’t the makers of the cheap versions figure out how to get the vinyl padding to stay on? The only spring clamps worth using on anything where the end of the clamp will be near the edge of the work are the orange Pony Jorgensen clamps. Guess I’m getting old.

I've had Besseys for years and they have always been super reliable.  Then I got a 4 pack of Jet clamps during a holiday sale a few years back.  They are heavier and they just feel more solid and have now become my go to clamps when I just need a few, but I still won't give up my Besseys.

[member=66185]Alanbach[/member], I saw Home Depot's prices, and I'm close to Delaware (where there's no sales tax), but I just don't think I would ever need a 50" clamp.  For just doing basic cabinets and drawers, I was thinking that the 31" or 40" would be fine.

Besides the obvious Amazon, does anyone know of another online place with good prices on Bessey?

Thanks!

Andy

"Industrial tool crib" out of grand rapids michigan, has bessey clamp sets, 2-24" and 2-50" with extras for 190.00 plus shipping. Not as good as home depot. Also have 2-24" and 2-40" with extras for 190.00 plus shipping. They are slow, I have bought from them; expect 10 -12 days for delivery.

Amazon used to offer some spectacular deals around this time of year that amounted to half off.  But the last year or two those deals haven’t materialized.  But I still keep a look out.  Rockler offers sales from time to time, but it may not be across the board, only a particular size.  Figure 20% off their regular prices I think.  My other usual tool sources don’t have any good deals going.

Yeah, I bought quite a lot from amazon years ago for a big discount. Lots of shipping problems with them though. I received all kinds of out sized boxes and shipping tubes. Had to exchange several due to shipping damage too. Maybe amazon decided they weren't making out on them and killed the deals.

A few times a year you'll see decent sales on the Bessey, whether at HD or online, so it's good just to keep an eye out and stock up when that happens. You might also check out the Bessey I BEAM clamps, which also go on sale occasionally.  They deliver more than twice the clamping force of the Revo -- not something you need every day, but great for when you do.

Home Depot is your best bet and depending on your store they even take competitor’s coupons which means you can use the Ace Hardware Black Friday coupon which are pretty generous to begin with.

Another +1 on Home Depot - for some odd reason, they consistently have the best prices on the 24" and 50" Bessey K-body clamps.

For the sizes that aren't cheap at HD, I've been picking them up from acmetools.com.

Acme has a 12% Off Labor Day Deal as well. I bought 8 12" Uniklamp from them. Perfect for face frame attachments and the blade of the Uniklamp goes into the 20 mm dog holes for use as a hold down clamp.

Happy Labor Day

I use my uni clamps a lot also.  I bought all mine years ago whenever Hartville Tool had them on sale, I have 6 of each of the three sizes.

The amazing Bessey prices at HD seemd to have disapeared at store level in my area.  Rockler (of all places) has the lowest prices on their range of clamps, year round.  In 2019, your parallel clamp options are limited to Bessey or direct knockoffs that often sell for more than the original.
