Part number for Stop block bolt - Urgent

Hello,
I just lost the bolt that goes in the track stop in the festool FS1400 saw track (it felt under the base board floor somewhere). Does anybody know the Part number and where to re-order? On a second note, do you have a part number of any t-bolt that would fit the track guide? I read a lot of posts but not specific part number. I can see that Lee Valley and Rockler has t-bolts and Incra has nuts but I am not sure about the part umber. I Cannot return so I need to be sure. thanks for your help!!

Not clear on your second question.  You can probably find 1/4" t-bolts in the plumbing aisle at HD or Lowes.  They are called 'closet bolts' for anchoring a toilet.  You might need to file down the head slightly but they should fit in the Festool rail if that is what you are referring to.

I do not have a router. I was referring to the stop for the TS55 to avoid the kickback. I drop the t nut under the joist. I could not find the part in the catalogue. It is a part for the saw stop. Anyway thanks. I forgot about thank you but I used your idea for the toilette bolt. I cannot use it for the saw stop but I used it to create a great Qwas dog. Thanks again

Hi Peter, sorry I just saw this. Actually the #2 is a bolt and not a nut. I guess it is not the same part. I am looking for the one in the pic attached. I have 2 stops but I lost one of the bolt

You should be able to go to a industrial hardware store and find something that will work.

Have you called festool service?

Theyll be able to help you out.

Last time i called they connected me to a repair tech and he hooked me up.

I always call festool service if I cant find something at the industrial hardware shop

I'm not so sure.  The head of the bolt is rectangular so that it fits into the slot in the bottom of the limit stop.  That seems rather unique.

I called Festool this afternoon trying to get the exact part number.  I got transferred to the service number since the ekat diagram didn't reflect the actual limit stop.  He went at looked at the limit stop that came with a TS75 he had in front of him and he said it looked like the ekat diagram.  Per his request, I emailed him these pictures of the limit stop to service@festoolusa.com:

He said he was pretty much the only person who checks that email - and then he'd check with some more senior people to see if they know what the deal is with this bolt.

I would go talk to a small engineering business, they could knock one up quickly if time is the biggest concern. Of cause this will cost more than buying a genuine bolt but I would expect the difference to be palatable.

The bolt in question is part of the Limit Stop FS-RSP. It has a list price of $13.75. So, it would be far more cost effective to simply purchase a new limit stop than have someone attempt to make a one-off replacement part.

I don't know of any small engineering businesses.  Would they really bother to make just 1 or 2 bolts??  That doesn't seem like it's worth the effort.

Heck for just 1 bolt and if time was truly of the essence - you could probably find an off the shelf hex head bolt and just cut the sides off to fit, but I don't think that's the point.

First of all, thanks for all the people replying. I am sorry but after spending what I spent on Sys, Track and TS55, I found a little silly to spend another 13$ for an extra stop because I lost a 30c part. I have already 2 (one is missing the bolt) and I will use the functional one as a kick back stop. I will hang in there. Festool should have spare parts for every single piece they sell considering the "luxury products" they sell. Considering that it is such a small part and it is easy to lose it. On a second note, I 'll bet it is used somewhere else in the Festool products. Anyway, I tried Lee Valley bolt but they do not fit. Going to EU soon, I will see if I can find a stupid bolt like that there. I do not know machine shop that can help. I might be hopeless. Thanks again for trying to help!

Well, some of the ‘small’ parts are not sold individually, but only as complete subassemblies. Eg the excentric rollers on my sliding table broke and I had to buy new ones as part of an assembly (at around 30 usd a piece…). Mailed Festool about it and they were kind enough to send me two of those for free (‘under warranty’). Great service! YMMV because I am in the Netherlands and you’re not.

I went looking through my stuff to see if something else had the same bolt. In the process I found three of those same stops. On mine, all three are the other way around. Rectangular nut and a threaded stud in the knob. As opposed to rectangular bolt. Like shown in the diagram posted by Peter.

That's odd, but I guess that might mean ekat is showing the correct diagram for the limit stop.

The date on my TS55 is 6/2016, but I bought it brand new from Beaver Industrial Supply in October 2017.

Sorry but it is not an M8. I have tried anything, the closest is 1/4 but the thread is different (of course it’s metric) and the head too big. I can file it but still have the problem with the knob. I tried also square nuts, they do not fit. I might try going to HD with the knob but seems easier to wait for Eu and get metric stuff.

The flange is 14 mm in diameter.

I just confirmed that M6x20mm cap screws work.  I picked up the 2 pack for $.90 from Home Depot.

PS while you're at Home Depot, I highly recommend you pick up a Gage-It Hardware Gauge.  It's only $1.99 and it helps me identify what type of nut or bolt I have.  Very handy!

The hex nut bolt in the 3rd picture works, but puts more stress on the T-slot (as the contact area is smaller with the hex nut where only a small triangle makes contact). Fine for use as a flag stop or in a story stick configuration, but possibly not that sturdy (or it'll damage the rail when you tighten the knob on it hard) when being used in the original role of a kickback stop.
